Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hi CaseySJ:

I have tried these suggestions without success.
Now is only solution is to find away to downgrade to bios F20, Because this issues is only on the new Bios F21
Some more comments:
  • How many GPUs are installed in the PCIe slots? Only 1? Or do you have another GPU (like Nvidia)?
  • Can you post a screenshot of "About this Mac" (but hide the serial number), like this:
    • CMD-Shift-5 will put you in Capture Mode, then click in the window. Image will be saved to Desktop. Then select the file and press Spacebar (Quick Look) and click the "pencil" icon as shown. Then draw a solid box on the Serial Number.

  • Also download and run IORegistryExplorer (click here to download), then scroll (not 'search') for PEG1 and post another screenshot, like this:

So a new problem has come up with my brand new hack build. I've been testing wake/sleep for a couple weeks before doing a full migration to this new build. Has been working fine. However, in the last day and with no other OS updates or changes, all of a sudden my Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will no longer wake or be recognized by my Hack once it wakes up. I have to plug in a USB keyboard and mouse to use it. Once I log in I can go to Bluetooth and after a minute or so the Bluetooth panel will populate with my devices. Total drag to have to plug in keyboard/mouse just to use the machine before Bluetooth 'wakes up'. Running the Fenvi-T919 card and it was working just fine until the last day or so. Weird problem. Anyone else seeing this issue? Workaround or fix? Running 12.2 btw.

We should:
  • Disable USB port HS14 because that is for Intel Bluetooth. Simply use the standard USB SSDT in ACPI section of config.plist and disable the current one.
  • Disable all OpenIntelWireless kexts from Kernel section of config.plist.
  • Ensure that USB cable is connected from Fenvi card to USB 2.0 internal header on motherboard.
  • Reboot, then Reset NVRAM in OpenCore Boot Picker (press spacebar to show that option).
  • Now boot into macOS (and set Startup Disk from System Preferences to the macOS disk).
  • Check Bluetooth again.
@CaseySJ Thinking this might be related to my new problem - see above - as well. I don't have the OpenIntel kexts in my Kernel section. And my card is connected properly given it was working just fine. Wondering if the HS14 is the issue. But I don't understand your advice here. I used Hackindrom for my MB and it has all three of the UAIC v1, 2, and 3 SSDTs. I also have USBW. What should be enabled or disabled for Bluetooth? And if HS14 is supposed to be disabled then how do you do that exactly? Thanks.

Please do the following and I'll provide the next step:
  • Are you using Fenvi FV-T919?
  • What are the makes/models of your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse?
  • Post screenshot of the following:
    • OpenCore Configurator --> ACPI section
    • OpenCore Configurator --> Kernel section
    • (Widen the window if necessary so all columns are visible)

Good morning all and of course @CaseySJ
I recently bought an external SSD (WD) as I have a lot of huge file transfers to do, and, honestly, compared to external HD, it make an impressive gain of speed (x10 reaching almost 1Gb/sec).
I am not expert and Google is a nightmare when looking at further improvement.

What would be the best option to go even faster with external portable HD on this machine?
Thunderbolt? How fast? Which model?
I basically would need a 2To solution. If speed improvement is great, price would not be the 1st constraint.
Thanks again for all your invaluable advice ;-)

OWC and Sabrent, among others, have TB3 enclosures for NVMe SSDs. Here’s a link:
I believe @Stork has the OWC Envoy…

We should expect around 1500MB/s in real world performance.

@CaseySJ Yes, I'm usinga Fenvi-T919. It was working fine until last couple days where I can't wake the Hack using BT keyboard or mouse. And, if I wake it up manually, the mouse and keyboard aren't registering. Both KB and mouse (Magic Mouse) are Apple branded BT devices. Screen shots are below. Really appreciate your help with this...

EDIT: if I connect a USB KB and mouse, I can log in obviously. But it takes a little time before BT wakes up in the prefpane, and, once that happens, then the BT devices all work. So, definitely a wake from sleep problem.

@CaseySJ,
Hi, I haven't been using my Hackintosh for a week, and now it starts to shutting down every time I try to log in? Before that, my Hackintosh was completely fine. Can you help, please!

Hi @CaseySJ, With your latest EFI my PC sleeps and wakes, but the RGB Lighting on the 4 RAM sticks still stay lit when in sleep mode. I normally turn the PC off at night, but leave it to sleep during the day when I'm around so I don't have to keep turning on/off. Also, I noticed that on the Hackintosh the RX 6800 XT lighting flashes a lot when I have it set to static in Win 11 following the RGB colours of the MB. I have the board set to static Blue but Card flashes between white/blue and purple when I use the PC for a long time.
