Old Socket 775 What's the newest OS I can install?

I do have the Asus gtx 650 ti gpu running on El capitan. How do I know if it has the 'gk106 core varient' you speak of? Is there a way I can check?
 
I also run an x99 motherboard 6 core cpu. Is it possible to use this as a dual boot? Could I add another hdd and have that boot into a mac OS?

The CPU can run in newer OSes, it has SSE4.1. You may need to use something like MouSSE to emulate some SSE4.2 instructions if using a newer AMD GPU, and maybe telemetrap? MacPro3,1 (which has CPUs from the same year) can run in Big Sur/Monterey using OCLP, so it's definitely possible.

Your main concern would be the GPU 100%, which is already being discussed here.
 
I just found an old GT710 in my parts drawer. Would that be a better bet?

Just can't seem to boot catalina with clover. I fitted the gt710 gpu it starts to boot gets halfway and reboots again.
Is a dx2400 my with gt710 and q9450 even compatible with Catalina?? Just to confirm this is another build and not my main system listed.
