Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm just hoping they don't decide to go down the "how much can I get on eBay?" route as I'm not paying crazy money for it, but it seemed like a good jump from the RX580
I had an RX580 before this. I bought the RX6800 for gaming in Windows and had both cards installed, with the hope that it would one day be supported in macOS. Soon as support came, I sold my RX580. No regrets!

I'm aware I might not get the full potential with a PCIE 3 motherboard
Why would you not get the full potential ? If you are installing it to a x16 slot it won't be slowed down. It does make a difference with PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs but not graphics cards.

Does anybody have AirDrop working in Catalina 10.15.7? If anyone does, what did you do to get it functional, or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
AirDrop is not supported on Intel WiFi/Bluetooth. Most Continuity features are not. We still strongly recommend Fenvi FV-T919 or equivalent Broadcom based wireless networking.

What is an alternative cheap card I can use until price goes back down.
I think Nvidia GT 710 is still supported in macOS, but not sure. (Well, you did say “cheap”…).

I had't looked into the bandwidths, but I assumed there could be a slight bottleneck. However, it seems like there are single figure percentage differences for 6900/3090 tier cards in pcie 3 vs 4, so it isn't an issue lower down. I'm not that well read on GPUs and the interfaces, so at least I've learnt something today :)

Pcie 3.0 x16 is currently more than enough bandwidth for a graphics card.

But if the amount of pcie lanes was reduced to say x4 (as in the 6500xt) then using such a graphics card in a pcie3.0 system will introduce bottlenecks in games that require more memory than the local 4 GB framebuffer.

When the framebuffer fills up and the card needs to access system RAM, pcie3.0 x4 will slow it down. Pcie4.0 x4 is double the bandwidth and thus better to have. pcie4.0 x4 is roughly equivalent to pcie3.0 x8 in terms of bandwidth.

Thank you once again.

Just want to thank @CaseySJ and this thread community for all their work and support. My new build based on the Vision D+Radeon 6800 XT+10900K+64gb RAM+10gb Ethernet is working great with dual boot Win 11+Monterey 12.1. Got my Fenvi T919 yesterday and installed it. Bluetooth, handoff/continuity, WIFI all working as expected. Just a great Hack config. Couldn't be happier. Thanks again.

I've updated it to 7.7.

I just copy-and-paste the binary files. I didn't touch the config file to preserve my changes. And I have fully-working Bluetooth, really nice. But, my USBs are not working one by one after every wake-up.

Has anyone an idea to fix that?
