[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@wiiwelshman Just double-checking, but when you made that clone, did you use the Legacy Bootable Backup Assistant in CCC?
Yes I did. But right now I just backed it up and I am going to wipe my bootable drive and install Monterey

It worked ......however...... the device connected thru the Apple ethernet adapter is there for a few seconds and then no connection. (Avid Carbon Interface) under midi/network devices.
I run the asus 10g nick card and run carbon into that. I left all the tb ethnet adapter after the last big sur, too much wierdness with vtd and those settings. it been flawless in terms of real time audio!

@CaseySJ oc 77 came out today can you send a update oc folder for us..your always the best!

Also i finally got a chance to run a 6600 amd on this system, sometimes at boot up the screen goes black. Any suggestions. Should i just set up rebar support in hackintosh?

I’m waiting for next version of OpenCore Configurator to be released (any day now). Then the 0.7.7 EFI folders can be published.

For the RX 6600, yes we should enable Resizable BAR Support in BIOS and this in turn requires us to set “ResizeAppleGpuBars” to 0 in “Booter” section of config.plist.

@edunon

Once Monterey boots up, disk read/write speeds should be normal, but over time speed may degrade. It's more important, however, to read the sections Background and Operation here:

Thanks Casey for your reply. I've removed the NVMe and installed Monterey on a spare Samsung SSD 840 Pro, it went very well with Opencore 0.7.6. I'm gonna take my chances and go ahead and install it on the NVMe 970 Pro but I'm gonna cover my back in case performance start degrading, by ordering a WD SN750.

Since I'm gonna have 2 NVMe SSDs, I'd like to install Windows on one, will this work for a dual Windows/Mac OS boot?

- Install Monterey and Opencore on one of the NVMe SSDs.
- Remove the previous NVMe, install Windows on the top NVMe.
- Install the NVMe SSD with Monterey on the bottom slot of the Designare.

I have my Home folder on a separate SSD drive at the moment, will it be possible to make a partition on the NVMe with Windows to have my home folder there, separated from the OS, or am I asking for unnecessary problems in the future?

All of this makes good sense.

Putting a macOS home folder on an NVMe SSD partitioned with Windows and macOS?? Not sure I like that idea. It's technically possible.

I received my new Bluetooth dongle ad my laird bt851 is not working for the moment on Monterey 12.1.
A simple swap does not seem to work. I think I’ve seen a thread in here regarding this but I cannot find it anymore. Can someone put me on the right direction ? Thanks.

@CaseySJ , does BIOS F9 cause all USB-C devices to not work including those that are plugged in during boot?

Unfortunately the Laird BT851 does not yet work in Monterey.
