[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

gosh-darn
learnt a new word, thank you!

Note that the issue isn't related to OCC but to macOS, I suspect the empty space inside volumes name causing the issue which isn't correctly handled by macOS, I mean when there's multiples mounted EFIs so names are "EFI 1" EFI 2" etc.

@CaseySJ

Updated to OC 0.7.6 without issue as usual with your excellent instructions. (I manually update files.)

Things to Test or Check:
  • Any OCS or other warnings before OpenCore picker appears? No warnings
  • Does macOS boot properly? Yes - both Big Sur 11.6.1 and Monterey 12.0.1
  • Does Bluetooth work? Can you enable and disable Bluetooth? Fenvi-T919 no problem
  • Does Bluetooth work if you (a) boot into Windows and then (b) boot into macOS without doing a cold start? Yes
  • If you use "Resizable BAR Support" in Windows, try enabling that in BIOS and check if macOS boots properly. Don't Use
Just used HackinDROM to update my Z490 Vision D to OC 0.7.6. We skipped HackinDROM last month so everyone could get reacquainted with the manual method. It certainly felt good to once again hit one button (more or less)...

Hello @Tea-Bone,

Because you're using Z390 Designare, this guide applies:
But after configuring OpenCore per the guide, set SecureBootModel to Disabled. Mojave will not boot otherwise. Once Monterey has been fully installed, we can change SecureBootModel to Default or leave it disabled.

Thanks, that's great. Do you still recommend going to OpenCore 0.7.4 as in the guide, or going straight to 0.7.6 per your more recent post?

We should go straight to 0.7.6.

We should go straight to 0.7.6.
One more version question, where does the F9 BIOS default on the CFG-Lock and is it recommended? I see it says you can't roll back so it would be risky to test it.

Have you noticed that weird macOS issue when multiple EFIs are mounted?
I have. I had two EFI mounted, one from my regular drive and the other from an alternate boot where I can test new configs. When I would open a config file on one drive and then save changes (I use PlistEdit), it would actually save it to the other EFI.

Update: I was stupid. My USB-C keyboard has a hub and needed HS03/HS04 active as well. I had to deactivate one of the front panel (HS06; I kept SS06) to stay below the port limit. All is good again.

Does anyone have a config that allows both Intel WiFi and the FractalDesign R6 front panel ports with OC 0.7.6? I tried building my own map with USBMap.command, but now the rear USB-C ports don't work (edit: SS03 and SS04). Wired keyboard doesn't even power up. All other ports (and WiFi) seem ok, though. Thanks.

Check out Post #1. Under Contributed Files and Tips -> Custom USB SSDTs there is a spoiler "Custom USB SSDT for Fractal Design R6 Case" that may be useful.

I have always found that the app Hackintool is good at creating port maps. Reading the help for the USB section in Hackintool explains how to do it if you haven't used the app. I believe there are also detailed instructions for using Hackintool elsewhere on this site.

Hi. I flashed my Alpine Ridge AIC yesterday and it looks good in System Report. I can see my PlugableTBT dock and my MOTU Audio in there. If I view the IOReg It looks almost as good but with the difference that the MOTU interface won't show? Also if I open MOTU software nothing seems to be connected via thunderbolt.

Opening System Audio it shows my dock's built-in audio device and it's working but the MOTU device (which is connected via TB 2 to the dock) is missing.

Any guidance on where start?

Also worth noting that I had it working for years in Catalina but still not in Big Sur. IOReg.pngOC AUXTOOLS.png
