Is there a fix with OC with VoodooHDA or can I switch the EFI to Clover?

I don't know what your audio codec is. It should work with AppleALC and OpenCore.
I wouldn't rely on VoodooHDA or Clover with Monterey. OC is best with Monterey.

If you want to avoid all these audio problems that keep coming back, use a USB audio
adapter and forget about the onboard.

Even these that sell for 8 dollars or less work with macOS. No drivers needed. Plug and play.

My ALC is 221 and I tried all of the codecs and none of them worked

ALC221 works on my HP desktop machines with no problems. Has to be one that will work for you.
I've tested it with Monterey and it does work. The main IDs should be 11,13,17.

Hi there.

It looks like the ALC221 has only three layout options - and you say you tried them all (post #149).

You either enter these in Device Properties or as a command-line switch. I'm guessing by the way you worded things in that post that you went with the command-line. When you do this remember to flush and rebuild the NVRAM of your PC using the OpenCore menu or nothing will change.

If you have done all that and still get no audio it is worth just trying VoodooHDA.kext instead. Because I use the same hardware to run macOS versions HS, M, C and BS I find I need to use AppleALC for the latter and VoodooHDA for the earlier. No idea why. But stick with OpenCore. Don't try Clover as it doesn't have as good support for later macOS versions.

As @trs96 suggested, also check your system definition. Don't go for anything fancy. People often get hung up on matching PC hardware to Macs when it's more sensible to go for reliability and broad compatibility.

:)

I did try 17 but no luck, as well as VoodooHDA

Try adding the Device Property instead. That's what I'm using. It's always worked for any macOS version.

You didn't enter 11 here for the ID like I showed you. You have some outdated kexts, some duplicate efi drivers.

Under Kernel -> Add Lilu kext has to load first. You have IntelMausi.kext first. I'll fix the problems
for you and re-upload the OC folder folder. Downoad it and then replace the OC folder in your EFI folder.
Try to boot up again and see if it works.

May take a few minutes so be patient.

I'd also suggest that you use a USBports.kext as USBinjectall doesn't work with Monterey.
I can't make one for you as I don't have an HP 600 to do that. Either find one for your HP
or make it in BS 11.2.3 or older. Catalina will work well.
