Hi guys,
I need help building a Catalina desktop computer. Some advice for budget hardware would be appreciated. Three things i already have are Vurrion GT 710 graphic (GK208), Samsung 870 QEVO 1TB & PSU Corsair CX500.

Are there any suggestion for budget supported hardware : Motherboard, CPU, Memory, that instantly work with this method :

I dont need audio (i will use firewire external audio interface).

Thank you

Your Gigabyte Z68 system will work with Catalina if you install the GT 710.

Those Z68 is actually already on my Mountain Lion hackintosh build, i'm planning to build another desktop. Since i already tried mounting GT710 on those Z68 build, and my ML wont start (stuck on apple logo). Those Z68 build use GT 430 graphic, and work flawlessly with ML. Thanks sir.

Hi there.

That all depends on how much you wish to spend and where you are based and what is available there. For example older motherboards are becoming scarcer if you are buying new. A Z490 based board is a good choice but you can go back to Z170 if you want to spend the minimum and can find a good one second-hand - with CPU obviously.

There is no "instant" fix in the Hackintosh world. You closest to that would be to copy one of the Golden Builds. There is almost always a learning curve and teething problems.

:)

EDIT forget that I'm not quick enough. I can see you have other help and have already moved past my suggestion.

Oh i see, how about my i7 2600?
The main thing that matters is your 710 has support in Catalina. Use an SMBIOS like iMac 15,1 and you can even upgrade to Big Sur later on without changing your serial numbers or SMBIOS. Does your board have UEFI or is it legacy only ?

Z68 i think is a bios legacy. But anyway, i will buy another motherboard for new setup sir, i think i a need suggestion for a budget one.

That's because Mt. Lion came out in 2012 and has no support for the GT710 which wasn't available till later in 2013.
