Can I ask what the sticker price is for that config ?

Depending on 24 core or 32 core GPU it's 3,099 or 3299. With 1TB. Deliveries slipped to Nov 5-10 already

3099 smackeroos. But I'm trading in my old MacBook and getting 700 for it, so 2399.

I got a space grey 14" m1 max, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB. 24-core GPU.
I went back and forth a few times, but decided on:
  • 14" Space Gray
  • M1 Max (only $200 more than 10-Core M1 Pro so why not?)
  • 32GB Unified memory
  • 24-Core GPU (more than I need)
  • 2TB SSD (so I can copy my lossless music library and install Linux VMs)

Yeah I was quick. Mine is coming on Oct 26. Delivery dates slipped quickly.

Unannounced new revolutionary product: Polishing Cloth

It will be a good long term investment that holds it's value. These really are "Pro" machines now with these specs. No Intel or AMD laptops can match the performance.

Apple's trade-in for my 2020 13" MacBook Pro (4 Thunderbolt ports) is $780, but because this is the last of the Touch Bar laptops, I decided to hold on to it. Should be fun to run side-by-side benchmarks...

P.S. Before the avalanche begins, I will say once and for all, I don't mind the notch at all.

UPDATE: Decided to accept Apple's $780 trade-in for the 2020 MacBook Pro. Today's new models could tank the resale value of previous-gen.

Yeah I completely agree.

Back in my early days of employment lol, I first bought a Dell laptop for school purposes. The damn thing didn't last two years before it was dead. I got out of the laptop game after that for many years because desktops were upgradable. I bought another laptop in 2012, a MacBook Pro. The thing is still alive and kicking, and with open core legacy patcher, is running Monterey beta. All these years later. Much more reliability than the Dell.

This should be a good long term investment for many years to come.

Intel MacBook Pro's are officially dead as they are no longer seen on the Apple website.

The only Intel machines left are the mini and Mac Pro.
