[Success] - Asus ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming + i9 10900K + OpenCore

Hello! Thank you for sharing your EFI to the community! Its a huge help for members here (like me) migrating from AMD to intel. I just recently came from AMD platform (R7 5800x and MSI B450 Tomahawk). My previous one was working great. SMBIOS MacPro7,1. everything is working except for apps that requires Intel CPU like Adobe and Final Cur Pro(faster export time using quick sync). I wanted to stay on SMBIOS iMac20,2 because I would like to use the iGPU for final cut pro exporting time (blazing fast). DRM is not that important to me as there are other devices for that purpose. Currently on BigSur 11.6

I just want to report when using you EFi, my bluetooth module (BCM49560CS2+m.2 adapter attached to the second M.2 slot) sometimes acted finicky. I noticed that after the pc wakes from sleep, the bluetooth takes time to work or sometimes not. I have to turn it off and on to make it work again. I noticed this one because my apple watch unlock feature will not work after sleep. I did try to follow your settings in the BIOS but same thing. And I noticed that the USB map, the 3 black ports acted as a USB Hub. I have a the bluetooth connected one of the internal USB port and my kraken z73 is connected to the other internal port.

Motherboard is on the latest BIOS version. Would be so kind to share your bios settings?

Thanks

Honestly, when I'm on the Mac side of this box, I never have it sleep. I mainly use it for Pro Tools and when I want a real Terminal.

This would be hard for me to troubleshoot because my BT/WiFi module is completely different, and it's in a PCI-E slot instead of M.2.

For BIOS settings I use what's in the OC guide:

I think you just need to remap your USB ports, Bluetooth unlike Wifi is dependent on a properly configured internal USB port.

I've build some hacks.....I'm not an expert yet:mrgreen:

I'll build today a similar hack with Windows in dual boot :

- Asus Rog Strix Z490 - E Gaming
- Intel i7 10700KF
- 64Go Crucial Ballistix 3600Mhz
- RX 6800 XT
- 2 x Nvme Sabrent Rocket 1To
- Corsaire AX1000

I'll fallow OC Guide first and see cause isn't exactly the same components

Scope, what's this SSDTs mean:

- GPRW
- MCHC-SBus

And this Kext:

CommanderProFix

Thanks in advance

CommandProFix is only if you have the Corsair Commander Pro RGB light controller like I have. If you don't have one you can remove it completely.

The 2 SSDTs are for power management I believe. You can open them with MaciASL if you want to see what they do.

EDIT: https://dortania.github.io/Getting-Started-With-ACPI/Universal/smbus.html

GPRW fixes sleep issues. (being able to stay asleep)

Ok, thank You for answer and links Scope. It's a hack for video encoding production dual boot Windows(for gaming), it's never sleep...when it's not working, it's in a "shoot down state":)

Here's a build of 0.7.4 with the latest available kexts.

Code:
craig@Craigs-iMac ocvalidate % ./ocvalidate /Volumes/EFI/EFI/OC/config.plist

Completed validating /Volumes/EFI/EFI/OC/config.plist in 1 ms. No issues found.

Hi, first thank you for your job and sharing EFI.

I have some questions :
I used your 072 EFI et the 072 EFI from xiaovie.

I have z490-e i9-10900k and igpu ( I disabled the 1080ti in first slot with tips found on xiaovie github)

I have triple boot : windows 10 , catalina, big sur

I have everything working on big sur, built-in ethernet wifi bluetooth, igpu hdmi FHD @ 120hz and hdmi sound.

1/ I there a way to get airdrop working ?

2/ The wifi seems not working at the best speed. I reach maximum 70Mbps but in windows I reach 980Mbps.

3/ On catalina i don't have wifi, because I have to inject another kext, and I don't know how and where I can specify which kext ( different Airport kext version ) have to be loaded when I choose on opencore picker to boot on catalina or bigsur ?
How can I specify which kext according to which os is booted ?

4/ how can I be sure the UsbPort.kext you compiled work perfectly on my MB ? Even if I have the same z490-e , how can I check if everything is okay and if there is no conflict ?

5/ is there a way to check if all the system is perfectly stable ? Everything booted well, no kext or drivers not well loaded, bus, drives, memory runs at their optimal speeds ?

Thank you.

I have this problem I can't install Catalina, I'm a layman on the subject can someone help me please.
Z490 AORUS MASTER 1.1 GIGABYTE Intel LGA1200 10° GERAÇÃO
Intel LGA1200 I9-10900K 3.7GHZ
Radeon Sapphire, RX 580 Pulse, 8GB
Kingston Hyperx Fury DDR4 32GB 3000MHz

Wrong place to post this, see this thread here for a write up on your motherboard.

Please update your signature with your new build, it helps take the guess work out of trying to support you.
1. You don't say how you are enabling wireless and or Bluetooth. Typically AirDrop only works with a natively supported wireless bluetooth card.
2. Same question as 1.
3. You can't but you can set up two different EFI folders if you have the two versions of Mac OS on separate drives.
4. Test each port. Does it sleep and wake properly, if the answer is yes to both then its probably fine.
5. There is no one way to tell what you are asking, running benchmarks and multiple applications to stress your machine is one way. If your EFI folder is molded after @scope666 you should be fine, used it myself once upon a time.

Leesureone, I see in your profile You have a Z590 Intel platforme with i7 11700K and RX 6800 XT. The 11 generation processor works fine in hackintosh? It's difficult to create usb install and insttall it?

Thanks in advance
