Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

Hi @CaseySJ good morning!
Today It is finally on delivery my new Sapphire AMD RX 580 4GB (PULSE i think) *_*
Right now I'm using my old NVIDIA 660 2GB and for this kind of gpu I was using MacPro7,1 because I had read that it was better for compatibility with this old nvidia gpus. Do you suggest to switch to another SMBios or I can use also macpro7,1 for the rx580? and is there need anything else for this gpu like bootargs or ssdt or it's just vanilla plug and play? XD
another thing I want to ask, if you can help me, is about USB Mapping... I have a XT20 of Thermaltake and right now I have sleep problem, usbwakeup doesn't fix the problem of instant wake so I think I have to rebuild the map. Can I use hackintool or there is something also that I have to do? I think I have to disable the ITE DEVICE RGB CONTROLLER of my motherboard. I saw that you use ssdt for the reneame and the port definition and then again the definition through the kext? why not just the ssdt? sorry for any misunderstandings... Ryzentosh is a little bit difficult for me with usb mapping xD

Hello @Vorshim92,

Didn't see your post until now. Anyway, it is best to continue using MacPro7,1 even with the RX 580. It's just plug-and-play. If your boot-args (in NVRAM section) contain agdpmod=pikera, you can remove that.

Some questions:
  • Are you using Gigabyte B550 Vision D or Gigabyte X570S Aero G or something else?
  • What devices are connected to your internal USB ports?
  • What devices are connected to your external USB ports?
  • Are you using the on-board Intel WiFi/BT M.2 card or have you replaced it with Fenvi BCM94360NG M.2 card?

hi there! No problem! As I imagined I left MacPro7,1 and i remove that boot-arg. Everything works perfectly, maybe I have just to see for the DRM solution (shikigva). I tried Videoproc h264 and 265 and it's perfect.

For the other question I'm using B550 Vision D and yes I'm using Intel WiFi/BT m2 with "openintel", is possible that this breaks the sleep?
For the usb right now I just connected the 2 front usb 2.0 of the XT20 to the internal usb but I think that they are disabled from the ssdt because they don't work. And I just use a mouse and a keyboard. I also have this "ITE DEVICE" on "PO11" of "XHC2 Controller" that now I removed from the ssdt.
Any idea?

Some questions and comments:
  • Which version of BIOS is installed?
  • Which version of the OpenCore EFI did you download?
    • 0.7.4 BIOS F10?
    • 0.7.4 BIOS F13?
  • Which version of macOS have you installed?
  • PO11 is the internal RGB controller.
    • If you're using Big Sur or Monterey, there is no need to disable this port because it will not affect sleep/wake.
  • If you disconnect the front USB 2.0 ports from Internal USB Header, does sleep work?
  • When you say there is a sleep problem, what exactly is the problem?
    • Does the system sleep and stay asleep, but does not wake?
    • Does the system try to sleep, but wakes up instantly?
  • Because you're using Intel WiFi/BT, have you installed the OpenIntelWireless drivers? And modified the config.plist appropriately?
    • Please post screenshot of OpenCore Configurator --> Kernel

Hi there again! Thanks for the support
A lot of question!
My BIOS is F13.
I used your F13 version with OpenCore 0.7.4 downloaded directly from HackindRom.
I'm on Big Sur 11.6
I know that on Big Sur I can leave port P011. But I know from a few friends that the RGB controller can be broken from OpenCore on Windows. I don't use it so I don't need it and I can disable it.
For the internal USB test, yes, I already did try without the header and the problem remains.
The sleep problem is the Instant Wake. It wakes up instantly yes.
Im using last Openintelwireless stable. I'll send screenshot and config.plist as soon as possible because I'm still on the bed right now thanks again and have a good Sunday ☺️

P.s. - The strange fact is that the USB 2.0 internal header is part of the "USB 2.0 Hub" together with the Bluetooth controller. So, why the 2 front USB 2.0 of the case doesn't works? (n.b. of course they work on windows!)
P.s.2 - I also add a screenshot from the terminal to see Sleep Wake log reasons

USB ports are mapped using two kinds of files:
  • SSDTs
  • Kexts
To check whether USB 2.0 ports are affecting sleep, we can disable all USB 2.0 ports -- including Intel Bluetooth -- as follows:

To enable USB 2.0 ports, just reverse the operation. In your screenshot, both of the USB kexts are turned off, which is not correct.

yes I know :( Today I tried every possible solution and nothing changes, also this that you are mentioning. Really don't know where is the problem. It doesn't seems to be a USB 2.0 problem but something also. I also disconnect the rgb header from the motherboard and all of the usb2.0 e 3.0 header of the case but nothing changed. Always INSTANT WAKE...
I also have TB3 Hotplug on OSX that works sporadically and WiFi Intel sometimes too. Maybe Windows from opencore breaks something?

Because you're not using the recommended BCM94360NG WiFi/BT module, it's best to delete this entry:

Couple of questions:
  1. Was this a fresh installation?
  2. Was "Migration Assistant" used to transfer files, apps, etc. from an older system?

already deleted this entry and of course it's a fresh installation without Migration Assistant. I was thinking that I have also a BCM94360NG on my dell 2in1 5491... I can try to switch with this. Anyway from tomorrow I will be able to use ethernet so I will disable openintel and the bluetooth controller until I have a new BCM for this motherboard because I want airport and everything in the near future.
The strange fact that remains is that the 2 front usb2.0 of the case attached in one of the internal header 2.0 (I already tried both) doesn't works on OSX and they should be under the usb 2.0 hub so there is no specific reason why they should not work (in Windows they work btw).
And the fact that disabling all usb2.0 and openintelwifi kext doesn't fix the issue of instant wake makes me wondering about a motherboard problem?

Regarding the front panel USB 2 ports, do they work when a USB 2 device is connected to them before booting macOS?

It would also be helpful to examine your IOReg file.
