[GUIDE] macOS Big Sur 11 on Z390 Aorus Elite board

About sleep, this are the important things:

Pmset config
Put this command in Terminal and press INTRO. Notice that I have displaysleep 10, disksleep 15 and sleep 20, change it if necessary.
Code:
sudo pmset autopoweroff 0;sudo pmset autorestart 0;sudo pmset displaysleep 10;sudo pmset disksleep 15;sudo pmset sleep 20;sudo pmset hibernatemode 0;sudo pmset powernap 0;sudo pmset proximitywake 0;sudo pmset standby 0;sudo pmset tcpkeepalive 1;sudo pmset ttyskeepawake 0;sudo pmset womp 0;defaults write com.apple.loginwindow PowerButtonSleepsSystem -bool no

Handoff
If Handoff is enabled (System Preferences >> General) sleep works worse than if it's disabled.

USB ports map
Since our mobos are identical, this is ok with my USBMap.kext.

Boot-arg
Try with darkwake=0 (obsolete argument but sometimes the system sleeps better) and agdpmod=pikera (not required for our RX 580 but I'v noticed that all seems to work better, even sleep).

Wake by USB mouse or keyboard (single touch)
- acpi-wake-type=01 in USB DeviceProperties

- SSDT-USBW.aml + USBWakeFixup.kext (see here).

Do you have MacPro7,1 in SMBIOS?
Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately I had too much work last week so I had not time to test the above and reply.

But now I tested the command and seems to be working very well. The rest of things you mentioned I already had, only handoff I don't use because I don't have bluetooth/wifi card.

I have iMac 19.1 in the SMBIOS, as you mentioned on the post with the Opencore 0.7.1 EFI folder.

I created the USB drive with Big Sur 11.5.1, two days later they released 11.5.2. Do you think I can update to that via Software Update?

Thank you for all the help! :)

Yes, I have done so without any problem.

I have a optical drive and if I use disksleep, mac keeps reading optical drive (even with no disc in it) once in every few minutes. I use disksleep 0 as I have an optical drive.
Also, if you have windows in a different disk installed, make sure the sleep is working fine with windows. For me if I fix windows sleep, my mac sleep is also working fine. I don't know if windows interacts with bios.

@tech1eguy
It is something known for a long time that optical disks cause problems with sleep, MacOS tries to access the device every so often and this can prevent a correct sleep.
I use a DVD reader / writer that connects by USB3, I use it rarely so sleep works well by not having an optical disk.

hi @miliuco, i am trying to build a similar Hackintosh like yours. After days of trying to install macOS 11 Big Sur. I am still not able to boot into the installer. My configuration and tries are as follows:

System:
Mobo: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite (Firmware F10h)
CPU: Core i9 9900k
Graphics: Gigabyte Radeon Rx 5700 OC 8gb
SSD: WD SN750 512GB

Config:
1. Opencore 0.6.6 + EFI (downloaded your EFI folder) + Same BIOS config as per your guide
2. Opencore 0.7.1 + EFI (downloaded your EFI folder) + Same BIOS config as per your guide
3. Opencore 0.7.3 + Fresh EFI based on Dortania Guide + fresh config.plist + BIOS Config as per Dortania Guide + followed all the troubleshooting guide to no avail.

I have attached my EFI folder together with the error logs. Can someone help me to identify what I could have gone wrong and point me in the right direction.

I have created the installation USB through Mac as per Dortania Guide.

Ok, I'll look at your EFI and comment. Your hack must run fine with my EFIs, I think we can fix it.

Appreciate it a lot @miliuco.. A small update on my build. I started fresh. Steps I followed:

1. Reset BIOS to defaults and changed the BIOS settings as per your guide.
2. Copied your EFI 0.7.1 folder. Used amd-as-main config.plist and added -v , agdpmod=pikera to the boot arg, and changed target for debug to 67 for logging. Didn't change anything else.

Results:
Got through the boot and stuck at the Apple Logo with a cursor. Left it to sit for about 30mins with no progress on the loading bar.

EFI and screenshot as attached.

I still can't figure out why it hangs at the apple logo.

I don't understand what's hapenning. EFIs attached do not work in my PC.
I upload a new EFI with last 0.7.4 OpenCore and last kexts versions.
I've added resources to have graphical picker (OpenCanopy).
Changed to MacPro7,1 to work with iGPU disabled in BIOS (included serial numbers are not the mine).
I've tried it in my rig and it boots and runs fine.
Try and comment.
Don't forget to do ResetNVRAM the first time you boot with a new EFI.
Note: BIOS as in the pic.

It works!! The provided EFI folder works. Unfortunately, I am stuck at the language selection installer screen. I have tried connecting my mouse and keyboard to every other usb ports. No effect. even tried a wired keyboard & mouse. it moves for a split second before it hangs. I cant get past this screen. i am out of ideas...

Modify the EFI.
1. Remove USBToolBox.kext and UTBMap.kext from Kexts folder and also from config.plist (don't forget it)
2. Add USBInjectAll.kext and XHCI-unsupported.kext into Kexts folder and also into config.plist (don't forget it)
3. ResetNVRAM in first boot.
Try and comment. It's possible that all USB ports don't work fine but it's a way to go fixing things.
