Hello Expertes,

this is my first post and i need your help!

6 months back i had built my first build and it was running all good - thanks to tonymacx86 for the guide.
Build was: Catalina on i7 920 2.7 + ga-x58a-ud3r rev 1.0 with legacy bios F1 version and clover 5106 (used Multibeast 12.0.0)
Last week i had update bios to F6 and booted well then used Multibeast 12.3.0, which had updated clover to 5119.
And after that it does not boot again - stuck into apple logo forever i.e. apfs_module_start 1689. With all the search i've put the SSDT-EC.aml in EF/CLOVER/ACPI/PATCHED in the SSD, where Catalina 10.15.7 is installed - but still the same. Then i tried to restore back clover 5106 from the EFI-Backup folder - still no luck

Any help is appreciated - i' trying to do anything so that the system can be running up again like it was.

please ref. attached documents for details.

My guess would be that the /EFI that you are editing is not the one that you are booting from.

Thanks for your response, but i did not get what i'm missing - here is the steps i'm doing
1. mounting the SSD to my MBP using clover configurator 5.18.3.0
2. copying the entire EFI folder from EFI-Backups - either 5106 or 5119 to the mounted SSD
3. Putting the downloaded SSDT-EC in mounted EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/PATCHED

getting same apfs 1689 error either cases - 5106 or 5119

Please guide further.

Please guide further.

Look at your system disk in the /EFI folder.
In a system that does not support UEFI Clover is installed in Legacy mode = To the system partition not EFI.

Can you please elaborate a little - sorry my ignorance i do not know many a things about this - off course my first build. Here is what is shows the catalina disk partition when connected to my MBP under clover configurator. and i see the partition i'm mounting and putting the SSDT-EC is showing as EFI.

Is there a way it can be fixed or do i need to start from scratch again, if yes please guide - a reinstallation from recovery or completely fresh installation via USB like i did originally?

Thanks for all your help!

You don't need to mount anything if you installed Clover in legacy mode.
Look in the /EFI folder in the root of your system partition NOT the EFI partition, that is where you should be putting your SSDT-EC.aml file.

Be extremely careful when installing Clover to a drive connected to a real Mac.
If you mistakenly install Clover to the wrong drive it can brick your Mac.

Thanks for the caution, but i do not find /EFI on the root of the external SSD connected to mbp

where im supposed to put SSDT-EC.
Any suggestion please...

No more ideas.
NP thanks. Just a generic question though, if i have to do a fresh start which clover version is best fit for legacy boot so that in future i'll stick to that only and not go any further clover update may be.
