ASUS Prime Z490-A, Intel Core i9-10850K, 64GB RAM, RX 5700 XT GPU

I am (trying) to upgrade my current Hack - bought all new components except using the same M2, and graphics card from my previous Hack.

Using very similar hardware as your build - Z490-A Mobo, i9-10850K, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 X 16GB) DDR4 3600, Radeon 5700 XT.

Threw it all together and...nothing. Can't get any video output. Mobo lights are on and PSU and CPU cooler fans are on.

Tried different PCI slots for the graphics card
Tried iGPU - both HDMI and DP
Re-seated RAM and tried both 1 RAM stick and 2 in recommended slots (A2 or A2-B2)
Rechecked/re-seated CPU
Rechecked/re-seated M.2 drive

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Never mind...I am a stupid, stupid human...

I am having problem with Audio. Tried alcid=7 and a few others based on the ALCS1220A codec but nothing from Line Out. I can get audio if I use my speakers via BT and audio through the monitor speaker so it's kinda working.

Any ideas to get sound out of Line Out?

Have you guys updated to 11.6 yet? If so any issues?

I just got mine back up and running with 11.6

I would like to enable the internal USB headers because my WIFI card uses USB for Bluetooth. I have tried to edit the usbmap you provided to get it to recognize the USB Headers HS06/7. I don't know if it needs to be enabled for power...As I have one of the USBs's driving power my EVGA cooler, the other is Bluetooth. Here is the map as I have edited it. Can someone please look and let me know if I did it right?

Also, I want to get the thunderbolt port working so I can use it. It isn't even sending power to my iPad Pro right now.

Are you planning to update to Monterey??

Hello, I'm from Italy. I would like to update my old hackintosh to work mainly with music production using the Universal Audio Apollo x6 thunderbolt 3 interface ( Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, etc... ).

If I buy for now :
ASUS PRIME Z490-A
Intel Core i9-10850K or another less expensive cpu
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX ( for now only 2 x 16gb )
( what Graphic Card ) ?????????

I have here at home :
SAMSUNG 980 PRO 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen4
Noctua NH-D14 cooler
XFX XTR 750W P1-750B-BEFX PSU
Apple Cinema Display 27" ( mini displayport )
Magic Mouse 1
Apple Aluminum Wired Keyboard

I would like to assembly a new hackintosh machine buying only the essential and compatible components for an easy install.
Thanks to all for the help

The M2_1 shares with the SATA port #2. The M2_2 slot shares with Sata 56 so if M2_2 is used the Sata 56 will be disabled. But if M2_1 is used then it will share which is not good as primary boot drive.

This is universal on all motherboards from what I have seen. Gigabyte mobos do the same idiotic thing and disable Sata if the M2 is used. IMHO this is cheap and just another way they can ripoff more $$$ from us consumers while utilizing slave labor in Chyna..
This is not as idotic as you may believe, as both the M.2 and SATA ports actually use different pathways: the M.2 is routed to the CPU allowing for much faster bandwidth while the SATA ports are on a separate bus.

To keep it simple, this means that two separate devices (each designed to use one of these pathways) cannot function at the same time. So, the design gives you a choice of which device type to use at the possible cost of reduced bandwidth, in some instances. Of course this varies depending on motherboard specifications.

Before calling the motherboard design a ripoff, and pointing an accusative finger at board manufacturers, you might consider that what's really happening - You are being given an extra port and a choice device type to use, that otherwise may not have been possible. Think of it like a switch that gives you the choice of having an extra SATA drive or an extra M.2 drive installed, but not both.

Just my 2 cents. Cheers.
