Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Yes! That´s how I´m getting back at Catalina. I boot up with my original USB which I created for installing with the addition of airport itlwm which BTW is performing great since the last updates (I´m getting download speeds of 100mb/s with a 100Mbps connection and almost no disconnections). The reason I want to update OC is to be able to update to Big Sur. I´m dying to try Redshift in Metal which only works in Big Sur.
What version of OC were you using to get wifi and bluetooth running? I am on OC 0.6.8, but no Bluetooth and wifi working.

Hello,
I installed 11.1 using this thread and the machine seems to be working fine for several months.
I just bought an Apollo Twin but crackles and distortions appear randomly and whatever the program.
Do you have any idea to help me solve this problem?
Thank you very much for all the valuable information found here
Is this happening at all sampling rates or only at high rates (192 KHz)? Please have a look here to see if this is the same problem that you're experiencing:

@sweetphreak,

Some questions:
  • Which version of OpenCore is on your original USB install disk?
  • Which version of OpenCore were you running before attempting the update to 0.7.2?
  • If you can post the config.plist from OpenCore 0.7.2 and your USB install disk, I can take a look. (Remove serial numbers from PlatformInfo section before posting the files.)

HI thanks again for your great work

is it possible to integrate the last version of intelmausiethernet.kext

2.5.3d3 so far (instead of 2.5.1d1)

as i have bugs with 2.5.1d1

thanks :)
Hello @epalzeo,

We have switched to IntelMausi.kext by Acidanthera, which is located here.

Sigh. Screwed up a perfectly working system...

Okay. So, after sitting around and not doing much with updating OpenCore for 6 months, I finally got off my butt and updated to the latest. It worked fine, which was great, but while doing so, I noticed that I had two EFI partitions, named the same, on my boot drive (I dual boot Windows).
Are you sure there were two EFI partitions on the same physical SSD? Is that SSD segmented into a macOS partition and a Windows partition?

One of them had the Open Core stuff I expected. The other one appeared empty. Thinking it wasn't doing anything, I deleted the partition.

All seemed well, until I tried to boot into Windows. Open Core shows the drive, I have the option to pick it, but when I go to boot, it just goes into a black screen.
To be clear, OpenCore does show a boot icon for Windows? But after you select Windows, the screen goes black? If so, please follow the procedure to disable AppleVTD (4 posts above this). Then see if Windows will boot.

On the other hand, if I use the BIOS boot-picker, I can boot into Windows with no issues. I could, I suppose, continue to do this, but it's inelegant and I'd prefer to OC boot-picker to work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I updated the USB with my latest working EFI. HackindROM reports it to be 0.7.0 but I think at some point I screwed up the version in an update. Still, it works... so, I the version that was working previous to updating to 0.7.2 is the same one I have in my USB stick.
So I´m attaching here the version that works OK with 0.7.0. The one I´m trying to use is the same one that´s in this guide, which I assume is the same as the one HackindROM creates. Right?
Also, I attached the log again just in case.

As I said in my previous post. I think it´s 0.7.0... but it was working well with the bluetooth kexts provided in this guide. Open Intel wireless and bluetooth has always worked for me.

Thank you for the excellent guide. Not very often these days a one can find this kind of writing. Very well structured, comprehensive. Reading and following was an absolute joy. I built the rig a week ago, everything seemed to be working, but I didn't have a chance to verify it thoroughly, for I had to fly south of the border for two weeks.
