[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ Save me!

I can't boot my Z390 Designare anymore

I wanted to install Debian on my 970 nmve which I used for Big Sur in the past,
After successfully shutting down macOS and switching OFF PSU and Power conditionner,
I waited for a minute then removed my main SSD Samsung 860, to make a clean install of Debian in a completely separate way on the 970 nmve, so without OC and custom BIOS settings

But problem when I push power button -> nothing -> really nothing is happening
Then I remember that I'm using Elias modified beta BIOS (TB dxe), so I reset CMOS,
This is the second time since im using Elias latest mob BIOS that I have this problem, but resetting CMOS used to fix the issue
But not this time!
All cables are plugged correctly, I verified them twice
Now all I have is this picture:

Yellow light from "Designare" logo :silent:, that's all
You should try to unplug everything superfluous and try to reboot.
If fixed, try to replug everything one after the other.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see that you already fixed it.

I've been having issues with Thunderbolt with Mojave and Big Sur. I ended up reflashing the Z390 Designare with BIOS F9i and the F9i modded version. Thunderbolt would not connect to the UAD Apollo. I had to reset the CMOS a few times and remove/swap out all Thunderbolt cables and let them "drain" for several minutes. Something is different with OC 072 and/or the Thunderbolt patches. It's working now, but it's been a really bad week.

Hello,
Just woke up, but Designare can't do the same! Same issue as yesterday

Need a coffee now, before anything else!

EDIT:
Coffee OK!
Trying to flash official F9i BIOS failed! > error message "Can't read file" when I select BIOS file from USB

EDIT 2:
I selected the USB storage drive but not the BIOS file so I got that error message.

I had the same BIOS flash issue. Is there any possibility that the Backup EFI feature of Hackintool HackinDROM could be an issue? Can you add a toggle so that we may have an option to not backup and hide a targeted EFI folder? Is it an OC 072 issue? Nothing but the BIOS should be writing to the BIOS space.

So... I'm currently using my Sapphire RX 580 4GB Nitro+ GPU, and all is well.

What if... say I was able to get a hold of an EVGA RTX 3080 Ti Ultra FTW?

Would there be a way to make this card work under macOS Big Sur?

Hmmmm.... :think::think::think:

Please note:
  • Hackintool is developed by Headkaze
  • HackinDROM App is developed by @Inqnuam
  • OpenCore EFI is completely separate from the motherboard BIOS
  • Neither Hackintool nor HackinDROM make any changes to BIOS
  • We do write data to NVRAM just as real Macs do

You'd have to write your own Nvidia drivers for macOS. Up to the task ?
I am NOT up to the task. Hope. Am not.

If Universal Audio would just release a version of LUNA for Windows, then I could take my head out of the Apple vice. Then I could go back to using any hardware I want and not have to hassle with macOS day in and day out.

COME ON UA!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting that; I watched the entire video and it was very informative.

Yeah, looks like no nVidia in Apple products for at least... ever.
