Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

...
Is there a new SmallTreeIntel82576_mod.kext modified specifically for Monterey, or do I need to wait? I didn't find anything for Monterey on-line.
...
Good question. I haven't looked into it yet, but may need to do so soon.

I downgraded my firmware, and its working again. I'll try and see if the RME can help. This is seriously a nightmare bug.

Ok so i can repro. I have to boot into windows, then into mac and use this certain firmware from rme and i can get it back up by just power cycling on the rme unit

@CaseySJ Would this mean its a tb issue motherboard or rme issue? Also can u mabey make the efi folder able to boot monterey so i can test the thunderbolt issue on the new mobo?
Sure, I can modify your config.plist to make it Monterey-compatible. I only need to know one thing:
  • Which Ryzen CPU are you using in your X570s Aero?
The latest AMD-OSX patches require us to modify the first three entries by specifying the number of CPU cores. Hence the patches must be tailored by Number of CPU Cores. We no longer have one universal set of AMD kernel patches now!

@CaseySJ

I just wanted to say thank you for your amazing tutorial. I have just purchased a Gigabyte B550 Vision D motherboard along with some other pieces, and I'm going to have a go with a similar build.
Good choice! The version of BIOS can make a huge difference. BIOS F10 is strongly recommended.

VERY COOL! :D

@CaseySJ

I just modified my EFI with the new Monterey patches and installed Monterey beta 4. The install went without problems. However, neither of my ethernet ports work in Monterey.

System Information -> Ethernet shows that the drivers are loaded for each port.

What changes did you make to EFI to launch Monterey?

@ori69

I went to this latest AMD-OSX patches page and carefully followed all the instructions to properly set the BIOS, and replace the patches and change settings in my EFI. This requires OC 0.7.1.

From the patches page:

Note: MacOS Monterey installation requires Misc -> Security -> SecureBootModel to be disabled in the config.
Also TPM needs to be disabled in the BIOS. Both can be enabled after install.

CaseySJ has posted a Monterey-ready EFI on post #1,141 (above on this page) for an 8 core CPU. Note the AMD patches have to be modified based on the CPU cores you have.

Also note that in Monterey Ethernet is not working for me.

One other change that is mentioned on the GitHub site but is easy to miss is this:
  • Kernel Quirk ProvideCurrentCpuInfo must be checked on.

Hi all, maybe you can help...
I'd like to build a dual boot PC/hack using a Ryzen 5 5600X and a B550 ITX board. Can you advice of a good working B550 ITX board?
Thanks all for your help.
