Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I am using your OC 0.71 AMD IntelWIFI EFI, but I have a Windows installed on a separate disk.
I guess that one day, (maybe after working on Windows) when I rebooted I discovered a few days later (I don't use BT very often) by chance that my BT has gone on BS and Monterey.
To get it activated, you need a cold boot and reset NVRAM, otherwise it won't show up.

Wow, that is quite a feat! If I get impatient from time to time I think you are in the best position to see why. After repeating the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, it becomes impossible to remain patient. :)

We have guides for this very reason. In other words imagine an airport without signs or even gate numbers. Everyone would therefore need to ask for directions all the time. By putting up the signs, everyone helps themselves instead. But if some people choose not to read the signs, then what can we do??

Like iWire, I follow all three of CaseySJ's "golden builds" almost daily. I have built two of these hacks. I might never have been successful without the detailed instructions he provided, and the solutions for the various issues he and others developed. I easily found answers to my questions in these threads without posting questions.

If "newbies" like me can carefully follow the guides and mini-guides and successfully do things like flashing TB chips, I would assume that 90%+ of others could do the same with a little effort on their part. They should spend some time reading the detailed information in Post 1 and use the SEARCH FUNCTION!

I have always wondered how CaseySJ can be so patient when the "signs" are right in front of most posters. How many of those 15,349+ messages could have been eliminated?

I hope everyone who has benefited from CaseySJ's unbelievable knowledge and PATIENCE will make a donation to tonymacx86. Where else can you get support like this?

THANK YOU CASEYSJ FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!!

I know that of the 188,000+ posts RehabMan made over the years he was here, many had these three words, "Read the FAQ" some people wouldn't do that and kept asking him. He got frustrated and retired from the community. An important lesson in that. If the followers of these more recent threads want to keep this going please search for your answer before posting. The search function on this site works really well.

To see for yourself do a search.

I can only echo your words...

@CaseySJ is it your birthday today?

I've been researching the Thunderbolt activation threads, and I, like yourself @CaseySJ, would like to order a couple spare ROMS to try flashing too...

In this post:

You said you didn't know if there was a difference between "W25Q80DVSSIG and W25Q80DVSNIG" so you were ordering them both... All digikey currently has is the "W25Q80DVSNIG" Were you able to get it to work?

It also appears that the Z390 and Z490 boards both use the same Winbond chips but Id like to double confirm this as well.

Good to see the enthusiasm! Both of these boards use the larger DVSSIG part. Please have a look here for confirmation:

Thank you for the kind words. We have our most momentous moments when we dwell on a new discovery or a new product. We are also here to address the more mundane day-to-day problems. But when the mundane overwhelms the momentous… :)

Hi,
I have an issue with my monitor when I use the lock screen feature.
I lock it, lock screen appears, after a few seconds screen goes dark as expected.
When I move my mouse, lock screen appears but the entire screen is colored in purple as seen in the picture, then after a few seconds it goes dark and doesn't respond anymore.
I usually solve it by turning screen on/off until it returns to normal color but it's really annoying...
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks
