Does anyone have any ideas why I can't attach BT devices?

I have a wireless magic keyboard and it connects fine, just not AirPods or Bose QC35II

I've had issues with PCIe allocation and the PLX chips on the Sage board. Recently it’s been finicky on which slots it prefers to be populated first. I’m not sure if this is a more recent BIOS issue and/or Big Sur/Monterey issue.

I’m sure if all slots are populated they should operate normally but until then maybe shuffling the devices around will help.

Or I can be entirely wrong and there is an issue with my board lol. I’ve noticed PC03 completely disappears sometimes. Thankfully I think all I needed to do was a cmos/nvram reset

Yeah I tried all these, even reset NVRAM.

Only the Magic Keyboard (BT) connects and works.

It keeps searching for other devices but never finds it, tried 3 BT devices now.

This started happening when I shuffled PCIe cards around, now tried 2 slots for BT already and same issue.

Yeah I tried Slots 3 and 4, need to try Slot 1 but it will take some wires to move around.

BT shows up in ioreg without a problem under XHCI HS02. It may be related to BIOS, I will roll back 2 versions to test, like you said.

Was working perfectly fine for a long time...this is why I hate Hacks lol

Just tried the BIOS from 2 versions back, same issue. Not sure what else to do.

EDIT:

Did a complete wipe of anything bluetooth related.

I think I give up, now AirPods show up and work ONLY after I synced it with the iPhone (which then gets saved on iCloud and synced to Mac/Hack).

Any other Bluetooth device doesn't show up in the BT discovery menu :(

I am beginning to think this is either Big Sur .4/.5 related or OpenCore. But it worked fine in .4, weird.

My fenvi t919 in the Sage has always been plugged into slot 1. I have it because in my hacks i've always liked using the magic keyboard and magic mouse. It works well but honestly i've never tried to connect other bluetooth devices: because i don't have any.
But in your case if in 11.4 everything worked fine then i think it is a problem of 11.5

Just to eliminate any doubt, at least try to connect it in slot 1 to see if anything changes.

Going to try Slot 1 (need to reroute cables) as Slot 3 and 4 didn't work. My only other option is slot 7 where the USB card lives (have to swap).

.4 worked but then I had this issue with .4 too lately, but recently went to .5 same issue.

I've never seen a problem like this with macOS in general, where bluetooth works but it can't search for new BT devices?

Update: Haven't had time to test Slot 1 for the BT card, but under Windows it works perfectly fine.

This is really odd, I am going to try reinstalling Big Sur I guess and restoring the data from Time Machine.

Has anyone had issues with the x299 Sage 10G having random lockups just after boot and during running. I'm 99% sure its an issue with the RTC but even omitting the regions entirely, the issue still seems to happen.

Really really odd. So I installed Big Sur again on another SSD to test, and it seems like it uploaded the proper firmware to the Bluetooth (thats how bluetooth works after all, as it stores active data on the EEPROM I believe) and now everything works on the older Big Sur install.

I had ordered a souped up iMac but it looks like I will be keeping the Hack for now haha.

Might be memory or GPU related.
