Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Home work done :)
To sum up:
- OC 0.71 BS 11.5 working perfectly fine on both EFI with/without intel wifi. (Not a surprise !)
- Monterey installed successfully with EFI 0.71 without Intel wifi (not an issue as I use Ethernet connection)

The main issue I face and so far can't solve out:
I run BS with 2 monitors connected through Display Ports and SwitchResX to change resolution and refresh rate.
With Monterey (fresh install nothing added yet) I cannot get the 2 working displays. I need to have one with DP and the other with HDMI.
Any idea about what could be wrong?

EDIT 2 hours later... update !
I was finally able to boot from EFI with intel WIFI on my existing Monterey installed as above.
Bluetooth is not working as explained by Casey but my wifi does not work too.
But I now get dual display with DP on both screens. Very strange indeed.
However the boot is much much longer than with the EFI without intel wifi.

I am not expert enough to really understand what's happening...
Hello @MacArthur,

I updated the Intel Wireless EFI yesterday by disabling Intel Bluetooth drivers for Monterey. This can be done by setting MaxKernel to 20.99.99 for both IntelBluetoothInjector.kext and IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext.

I’ll update the OpenIntelWireless EFI soon. @CODYQX4 pointed out a possible solution for the Bluetooth problem in Monterey…

As usual thanks, I'll check and try again.
Any idea why I can get dual display with DP on EFI with intelwireless and can't get it (only one DP and one HDMI) with the EFI without wifi?
Are you using a Fenvi FV-T919 or relying only on the built-in Intel CNVi module?

Other than the use of OpenIntelWireless drivers, the difference between them is that one uses SecureBootModel = Default (OpenIntelWireless) and the other sets it to Disabled.

I find the solution to fix the issue that HEVC don't work.

CaseySJ, Could you please add this fix to the new efi?

how to fix: add # before AAPL,slot-name

Good work!

The OpenCore 0.7.1 EFIs for Z490 Vision D have been updated:
  • Standard version contains this fix for IGPU to enable HEVC.
  • OpenIntelWireless version contains this fix along with IntelBluetoothFirmware 1.1.3 and BlueToolFixup.
  • We can use HackinDROM App to reinstall OpenCore 0.7.1.

Good progress guys.

Yes good progress !
I now have my 2 screens on DP working fine.
My wifiBT (intel as no additional card) is ok on BS but not on Monterey.
I reinstall OC0.71 2 minutes ago as suggested by Casey.
On Monterey, In pref Sys wifi is off (red dot) and if I click on it Pref Sys quit and generate a crash report to be sent to Apple (attached file...)

** Enabling AppleVTD on Z490 Vision D with No Impact to WiFi/Ethernet **
Credit: @yosoyoco

Finally we are able to enable AppleVTD without incurring the side effects of broken WiFi and Ethernet. Thanks to @yosoyoco for solving the final piece of the puzzle!

Steps:
  • BIOS --> Enable VT-d
  • OpenCore --> Uncheck DisableIoMapper from Kernel Quirks
  • OpenCore --> Remove dart=0 from boot-args if it exists
  • OpenCore --> Add SSDT-DMAR.aml (attached) to ACPI --> Add section as shown
  • OpenCore --> Delete DMAR from ACPI --> Delete section as shown
  • Reboot
Once this has been more fully tested I'll incorporate it into next month's OpenCore 0.7.2 release.

Warning:
  • The attached SSDT is only for Gigabyte Z490 Vision D.
