[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hello @SardusX,

It's highly highly highly recommended (i.e. Just Do It :)) to install F9g or F9i. I would recommend F9i. Then unlock MSR 0xE2 just by doing this: BIOS Setup --> Boot --> CFG-Lock --> Disabled. As easy as that to unlock MSR 0xE2.
When you suggest updating with the BIOS version F9i do you mean the "official" one?
I downloaded the F9i version from Softpedia:
and compared its SHA-1 /256/384/512 signature with those of the file You linked in Your "Quick Reference to Mini-Guides and Micro-Guides": they coincide so I can think they are both verified files?

Use the same SSDT-UIAC... that you are using now. Copy that file into OpenCore's OC/ACPI folder and add a reference to it in config.plist --> ACPI section using OpenCore Configurator:

Please, i have two questions:
Is the use of the OpenIntelWireless Driver (and therefore of the SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7D.aml) compatible with the use of iMac 19.1 sysdef?
When I made the first installation of macOS mojave by following your Guide you provided me with the SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNATE-Z390-FD-DEFINE-C-TG.aml file (which I attach to this post). Do you think it can still be used with OpenCore and Catalina/Big Sur?

Thanks in advance

Not to be a bother but did you have a chance to try activating PTT @CaseySJ? I tried resetting CMOS and enabling PTT before touching any bios settings but it still comes back disabled. Wondering if there could be a problem with my 9900K, or if it's somehow still related to my bios screwup (seems a bit unlikely as I flashed the full chip using your bios).
Just walked 2.65 miles down the hill to nearest Starbucks. Will be back soon.

Yes that's the right one (official F9i).

Yes it's compatible with iMac19,1.

...
Yes this can be used with OpenCore and Catalina/Big Sur. It's best to use Broadcom WiFi/BT instead of Intel. There are still several issues with the OpenIntelWireless drivers so I cannot recommend them for day-to-day use.

Just enabled Intel Platform Trust Technology in BIOS F9i (w/latest microcode update from Elias). No problem booting macOS. Will go back into BIOS now to see whether PTT is still enabled.

Update: Yes, it is still enabled. I did not reset CMOS or make any other changes to BIOS. Just flipped PTT on.

Careful, that exercise stuff can kill you. I used to do a minimum 5 miles a day with 80lbs of gear back in the 80’s and 90’s when I was with the Corps. Now my knees and back are a mess.

It's a different equation when the only two things you're carrying are an iPhone and a latté! No stress on the spine.

...with my Z390 Designare:

I have installed one 16GB memory module (G.SKILL - F4-3000C16Q-64GTZR)in bank A1. Everything works perfectly!

With two, three or four modules the LAN / WLAN is deactivated. It does not matter in which slot the modules are inserted.

G.Skill Ripjaws V 128GB (4x32GB) DDR4-3200. I'm using 2 DIMMs, the other 2 have been in my z590 since I built it, but it was sold as a 4x32GB kit.
You stated that with AppleVTD enabled, WiFi and Ethernet do not work with G.Skill Ripjaws 4x32GB memory. If you go to System Information --> Memory, you'll see the part number. Can you please post that?

Hi, I updated my thunderbolt on Z390 Designare under Mojave which worked fine. However I still get the weird offset after a few minutes with my Decklink Ultrastudio HD Mini. How can I be sure that my thunderbolt is operating correctly? I have Thunderbolt Bus appearing in system information and SSDT-TB3-HackinDROM.aml SSDT-DTPG.aml in OC/ACPI. Is there anything I forgot?
