[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Maybe Elias has some idea. He has a different version of BIOS that is much more extensively modified!
@Inqnuam @CaseySJ
Yes :)

First, I have tried Target Disk Mode but as said Casey, it doesn't work.. yet !

Then, I have identify an EFI application named UTDMUIApp (Unified Target Disk Mode) used by Apple for Thunderbolt and Firewire, but I don't how I can use it. Maybe called by another application (BootPicker).

I still need to find how I can make an "on-memory" application boot link (like Boot001, Boot080,...) on NVRAM.

@CaseySJ

I decided to try this all on my X299 (Designare EX Board) system at work (LOL) with Mojave....
Only thing I noticed was Smalltree ethernet kext threw an error on OC right in the first few seconds and that my second ethernet controller isnt working...

128GB RAM AND WORKING ANTELOPE!
Wow! How in the name of *insert diety* did you get it to run on an X299 system? I thought it required the Z390 F9i modded BIOS with the Apple code inserted.

Well, what do you know? My Asus X99 Deluxe II with Big Sur 11.5 Beta 5 works perfectly!
  • AppleVTD enabled
  • DMAC
  • 4 DIMMs (8GB x 4 = 32GB) -- 8 total slots
  • Fenvi FV-T919 --> no issues
    • WiFi okay
    • Bluetooth okay
  • Two on-board Ethernet ports --> no issues
    • i211 --> SmallTreeIntel82576.kext
    • i218V2 --> IntelMausi.kext
  • Flashed GC-Titan Ridge (Thunderbolt 3)

This is standard BIOS. We're just enabling VT-d.

Could it be that X99 and X299 systems are responding much better to AppleVTD because they have a real DMAC device defined in DSDT?

@CaseySJ just playing along here on my z370.

With only two sticks of RAM I have AppleVTD and Wifi/BT using the Fenvi. Cannot test ethernet or TB network but everything else works per usual.

RAM modules are:

XPG ADATA
DDR4 3000
8GB

VT-D enabled in bios
dart=0 removed fro NVRAM
DisabledI0mapper unchecked

Hi @NorthAmTransAm, I too am trying to play along with my Z370 but I can't boot into Mojave with any OpenCore EFI higher than v060. (My #2 build in my signature is this same Gigabyte AOG7, F15a ). Would you mind looking at my attached Z370 EFI and tell me what may be preventing me from loading the OS on any version higher than OC v060? Please and thank you.

I have an Asus X299 Prime Deluxe II with built-in Titan Ridge (origina FW). You helped me get my Apollo connected and Thunderbolt Bus to show, but think I’m out of my depth with modifying a BIOS with those drivers. Or am I?

My X299 is unmodified. Just made the described changes to config.plist and enabled VT-d in BIOS.
