The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

clean install as you instructed in guide, then copy OC EFI folder as you'd attached into new EFI to boot direct from my HD
I tested the EFI folder with my system and Mojave and the Ethernet works. Try clearing NVRAM again after a reboot.

You should also go to /L/E and take a screenshot of the kexts you have there.

Just got in the Harbin Repairs front panel I/O adapter. The build quality looks excellent. I can see why they charge about $12.50 for one. The soldering is really well done. It is very difficult to get a good photo of it. If you have front USB 2.0 ports on your case and use the audio and/or mic jacks there then this is a must have. I have a front HDD LED on the Phanteks case so I'm happy I can use that too. Useful diagnostic info.

The amount of work to reverse engineer what Dell did to prevent you from using your own case, must have been enormous. Quite amazing imo.

This kit is designed for the mid tower (not SFF or small form factor) desktops. It allows you to connect standard PC case front panel headers to the Dell Optiplex 7010, 9010, and 7020, 9020 MT motherboards. These are often used to build budget gaming PC’s using decommissioned office desktops and convert them to work with modern PC cases. WARNING! Connecting these adapters in the wrong orientation or with the wrong models could result in damage to your motherboard. Do not use these adapters with models other than the ones mentioned above.

You can look at the schematics from their research into this.

Is this process specifically for OC installation? I'm still with Clover but should I do these settings now even I won't do a clean install with OC for now?

These are required for Big Sur but not for Mojave/Catalina. Without CFG lock removed you can't even install Big Sur.

Got it! Thank you so much!!

THE CM NR400 is on sale at Amazon. $34.99 AR !

You will need to buy it by June 27th to be eligible for the $30 rebate. This case is about 5x better than any other case you can buy for $35.

This video review uses the EU version of the NR400 case that has no ODD bay in front. Not available in the USA AFAIK.

Those in the USA can only get the one with an optical drive bay. The bay can be removed if you won't need an OD.

Hi Trs,

Have been away from this forum for a while enjoying my Hack! I tried to replace the rear case fan and the CM hyper 212 rgb black fan with a couple of 120mm be quiet silent wings 3 fans today. No luck, getting a motherboard fan error and also get a cpu fan error. I'm thinking the be quiet 120mm high speed edition fans either don't spin up fast enough when i switch the power on for the bios to detect or they are spinning too slow. Fiddled about for a while but ended up putting the old ones back in for now to avoid the start up errors! I don't suppose there is a way to tweek the bios fan settings, range or anything?

Secondly, I notice you have switched to OpenCore, has that had any impact on the sleep not working with a graphics card issue?

Good to see you back bjay. I would try using the Macs Fan Control app and see what happens if you set the BeQuiet fan speeds to maximum. What is their max speed ?

Also note that you must have the SMC Dell sensors kext installed for the MFC app to work properly.

I recall you were using a hardware based fan controller. What exactly does that do ?
