I have a Dell XPS 9360 installed with Catalina hackintosh and the other day my battery died (when I plugged the laptop in with a charger there was no battery sign on login). Soon after I noticed this the laptop crashed and flashed amber and white at the bottom.

Forward to today, I installed a new battery and reset the CMOS, but for some reason after booting the drive up I keep getting a memory panic stackshot succeeded message and the whole laptop restarts. I also tried booting from my Catalina Installation USB and I get the same error(both on verbose mode). Please do let me know your suggestions, thanks!

Have you patched your DSDT.aml so your battery works correctly in macOS? If yes, try booting without the patched DSDT.aml. You may need to patch the original DSDT.aml for the new battery.

You might want to Clear NVRAM - use the tool in OpenCore or press the F11 key if booting with Clover.

You might also need to check your bios settings are correct, as resetting the CMOS will have wiped any previous BIOS settings you were using.

Yes I changed all the BIOS settings again and cleared the NVRAM, but I am unable to change the DSDT.aml file as I can't boot up, the original config in the installation USB doesn't work as well (it used to without any problems before battery change ) how do you recommend I patch the dsdt file, I guess I will need to run a virtual machine on another computer?

Also I cleared the NVRAM from both the drive and the usb(F11 on clover), would this have caused both the catalina installation and the actual drive to not be able to boot?

Clearing Nvram shouldn't have made any difference to your ability to boot from the USB installer or macOS drive.

It is a while since I last booted Clover on a laptop and I am trying to remember how to go about preventing the system using the patched DSDT.aml. I can't recall if it is via the 'Options' menu or via the 'Spacebar' options menu.

I take it if you remove the new battery and just use the power lead that you still can't boot in to your macOS drive or with your USB installation drive.

Can you post a copy of your current Clover folder, from the macOS or USB drive, so we can see what you are using. If you have Messages/iCloud etc. working on your laptop I would recommend redacting or deleting the Serial Number, Board Serial Number, SmUUID, MLB and ROM from the config.plist.

Yes I removed the battery and just connected the charger but I still get the same error

I managed to get it up and running,
Just needed to change the efi partition on my usb and it worked!

Changed the EFI partition on the USB, how?
