Is my HP Hackintosh-able?

Hi,

Recently I bought my brand new Laptop from hp. Below is my Machine description.

Model HP Pavillion 14-dv0054TU
BaseBoard Manufacturer HP
BaseBoard Product 87C9
BaseBoard Version 34.27
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz
Processor Family Tiger Lake
GPU Type iGPU
GPU Family Iris Xe Graphics
Installed RAM 16.0 GB


and for more information, I have attached the sysinfo file extracted from running Windows OS.

I'm going through a lot of guidelines, as this Transition of Apple to M1 from Intel CPUs is making it quite impossible to make macOS compatible with new Intel 11th Gen Mobile Processor-based Laptops (and is driving me crazy)

is it possible to make this machine a Hackintosh (Although, as referred to OpenCore Guidelines, so far Tiger Lake has been not explored or experimented to be supported and is the same with Iris Xe Graphics)?

Bro @Middleman, Thanks for this Thread. But, since I'm a newbie, could you please say like "What would be the consequence without any acceleration?" Will that be slow or not usable at all?

Also as asked here, will that be possible? Like Using CPU IDs of Desktop Processor from the same family, would that work?

If the system boots without acceleration you’re not going to get much in terms of things like 3D or possibly things like video VDA decoding or HVEC encoding. But you will still be able to use it to browse and run software just not fast graphically. You’d still be able to run majority of Mac apps available but with limited memory, and no it won’t be that slow.

As to your second question, yes it is theoretical possible but because the Tiger Lake platform is so new, there’s not much else anyone knows about it’s backwards compatibility with other CPUIDs (if at all) as Apple doesn’t use Tiger Lake so it is a bit stuck in this regard at present. If you had a Comet Lake system on the other hand it would work fully both CPU & GPU because macOS Big Sur supports it.

Correct, although I doubt anyone knows how they run at the moment (because it is so new).

Possibly (if you are willing to try).

As it happens, Opencore 0.6.8. introduced CPU identifier support for Rocket Lake (11th gen) & Tiger Lake (11th gen mobile) CPUs. So you should theoretically be able to make it work.

in other words you may want to try macOS on hardware that Apple uses
