Hi, I mounted a Hackintosh with this hardware:

Huananzhi X99 F8
Intel Xeon E5 2678 V3, 12 núcleos, 3.3 GHz
32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8gb
NOX Hummer ZX USB 3.0
Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120
Seagate BarraCuda 3.5" 2TB SATA
M.2 NVME SSD 256GB
Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVME SSD, 512 GB
Hiditec EVO800 800W PFC Activo

The installation (macOS 10.14.6, iMac Pro (2017)) was done by another person so I have no idea of this hackintosh world.

I´m having problems with the webcams, I have 3 but sometimes they are not recognized by the system (they ARE recognized but still black image). I tried with only one and only sometimes works after restart.

I´m using OBS, Resolume and Ableton, with a USB audio interface, USB MIDI interface, 3 USB synths (planning one more) and 6 USB MIDI controllers, mouse, keyboard and a USB bluetooth receptor. So I´m more or less in the limit of USBs. I´ve read some threads about this but still don´t know if I should mess with the BIOS. I don´t even know if I should update the system when a notification appears.

Sometimes I have problems with the synths as well and I think maybe the system isn´t optimized, ´cause I think the hardware should be able to work with all of this.

Can you help me please?

I´ve been reading some threads about USB port configuration but I´m total noob with this.

Can it be harmful for an external drive to use it for this?

using external drive for testing the ports? shouldn't be harmful

Thanks Feartech. I´m some kind of worried about messing up with things I don´t understand. Can I break something during the process?

Is there any special thing to have in mind with my motherboard?

shouldn't be able to break anything unless you happen to drop something very large and heavy on your computer :)

:lolno:

And I should stick to the 15 ports limit counting both ports in the same input? I´m using 15 USB devices (maybe 14) but, if I connect one to an USB3 input, will I lose 2 ports?

Never hold a bowling ball over your computer. Especially if you've got greasy hands.

15 port limit, you may need to sacrifice a port or 2

usb3.0 ports use 2 ports

use a usb2.0 and a usb3.0 device to test the ports

So should I "open" the SS port and "close" the HS in the same input to be able to plug an USB device and not lose the second port?

you would have both hs01 and ss01 open (for example) to be able to use usb2.0 and usb3.0 on that port
