Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hey, why has my post been removed?
from the rules:

Ok...then here again:
There appears to be support for our I225-V device ID (0x15F3), but the right driver does not load. Perhaps macOS is looking for some other qualifying Device Properties. I tried setting subsystem-device-id to 0x106B (Apple), but still no luck. (The Broadcom Bluetooth module also sets subsystem-device-id to 0x106B.)

@CaseySJ Found this and tried it. It's working for me in Big Sur 11.5 beta:

Hello @HenryM,

To confirm that the right driver is loading, please post screenshot of System Information—> Ethernet Cards after clicking on the i225-V device.

Hi @CaseySJ I have a question, maybe a dumb one (sorry for that):
"after install Catalina, is it possible to Upgrade to Big Sur or Downgrade to Mojave"?

You are absolutely right!! The trick is to simply set device-id to F3158680 (or 15F3 8086 in standard byte order). Even though the device ID is already 15F3, apparently this is not sufficient to invoke the correct driver. We need to change the device ID to 15F3 8086, but this has to be specified in reverse byte order: F315 8680.

Then we can disable FakePCIID (screenshot #2).

And voilà:

I'll make this change in the OpenCore 0.7.1 release next month. Meanwhile, anyone running Big Sur is welcome to make the change manually (this is optional, however).

Hello @AndrewMcPherson,

After installing Catalina we can definitely upgrade to Big Sur through System Preferences --> Software Update. But we cannot downgrade to Mojave through System Preferences. For Mojave we will need to download and run the full Mojave installer and possibly install it from scratch. Mojave installation requires CPUID spoofing.

But please make a full bootable back of Catalina first. You are dealing with Hackintosh, after all. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong and at the worst possible moment.

Hi @CaseySJ
Big Sur installed ok, no issues on install.
But I noticed that the:
F_USB1 is still active and feed the Titan Ridge card, so far, so good, but....
F_USB2 internal USB 2.0 port is no longer active, this one was feeding the Front USB 2.0, but not anymore.
Any tips?
Thanks again.
