On my ProBook 4540s that has Big Sur 11.3.1 installed and working fine, it cannot find the 11.4 update. It says it is up to date.

Any ideas how to let Software Update find the latest 11.4 update?

Alternatively, is there another way to update to 11.4?

Thank you!

You could try using gibmacOS to download it. Download the ZIP file here >
Decompress it and right-click and run the gibMacOS.command file using Terminal.
When it finishes loading select 1 in the Terminal menu. It will download a copy
of Big Sur 11.4 into the macOS Downloads folder within the gibMacOS folder.
Go into the Big Sur 11.4 folder and then double-click InstallAssistant.pkg to install.

Go to Library/Updates and delete everything in there, restart and it should show up.

I sudo rm /Library/Updates, rebooted, then proceeded to check for update. It checks... then still shows "Your mac is update to date - macOS Big Sur 11.3.1." :(

A new file ProductMetadata.plist is created in /Library/Updates.

Any other suggestions, please?

Is BlacklistAppleUpdate quirk enabled in your config.plist?

My csr-active-config for 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 is set to FF0F0000, which means "Disable all flags in macOS Big Sur (0xfff) which has another new flag for authenticated root".

Is BlacklistAppleUpdate quirk enabled in your config.plist?
Yes, it is set to True. I suppose I just have to set it to False?

No. It should be set to true.

Try setting set csr-active-config to 00000000....restart and clear nvram.....

I did exactly that but sadly, it doesn't work.

I also deleted /Library/Updates and tried again, but still fails.

Any other suggestions?

On my Z170 build my CSR shows FF0F0000 and my BlacklistAppleUpdate is set to false - and I manage to get the updates. Have you also set rtc-blacklist for NVRAM UUID 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102 ?
