With either updating to 11.3.1 or new install. I get the installer rebooting at 12 minutes left with new install with update it runs until it says its time to reboot. On reboot selecting Install os drive it flashes the apple logo then immediately reboots again over and over. I was wondering if this has anything to do with the USB issue and Big Sur? I am on OC 0.6.9 all previous updates worked no problem. Any ideas?

Anyway, I post here. I have been studying your 0.6.9 EFI folder. These are my comments and the modified EFI. Try and comment if the problem is fixed.
  • There are files from OpenCore 0.6.9 and from another version, I have put all of them from 0.6.9 version.
  • The config.plist file was not valid for 0.6.9, some keys were missing in UEFi> Quirks.
  • In UEFI > AppleInput > CustomDelays the type has changed from String to Boolean.
  • I change PickerVariant to Modern, you'll see better icons.
  • To install macOS it is better to have SIP Enabled (csr-active-config = 00000000), you have E7030000 that partially disables SIP, use this value when you already have macOS running but not to install.
  • SSDT for Coffee Lake R: SSDT-PLUG, SSDT-EC-USBX, SSDT-AWAC and SSDT-PMC. I think you can try with SSDT-EC, SSDT-HPET and SSDT-USBX disabled.
  • AppleMCEReporterDisabler: Useful starting with Catalina to disable the AppleMCEReporter kext which will cause kernel panics on AMD CPUs and dual-socket systems. Affected SMBIOS: MacPro6,1 - MacPro7,1 - iMacPro1,1. Requires macOS 10.15 or newer. I think you can try with this kext disabled.

I will try out your modifications and hopefully get updated. Thanks in advance.

Edit: So after replacing the EFI folder on my flash drive with the one you sent above, the flash drive fails to boot about a third into the booting process and shows the apple support address.

For the install USB try this EFI. It's the same with only 1 change: iMacPro1,1 instead of iMac19,1. I've shortened the PlatformInfo part of the config.plist and removed DeviceProperties of iGPU. Try this for the USB and tell me if it works.

Note: always when you change the EFI you must do ResetNVRAM at first boot.

There was no change. Same message popped up a third of the way into the boot. There used to be an option in the picker menu to clear NVRAM but its not there anymore. I tried using f11 option at boot up of the thumb drive with different key options.

You need to enable the CleanNvram tool and or ResetNvram option in your config.plist for the tools to show on your OC Picker List or GUI bootloader.

No.

You need to edit your OC config.plist, using ProperTree or a similar Plist editor and change the settings yourself.

Misc > Security > Allow NvramReset = True, highlighted in Blue

Misc > Tools >ClearNvram.efi > Enabled, highlighted in red rectangle.

For the ClearNvram Tool to be visible in your config/plist it needs to be added to your /OC/Tools folder.

OK. Do you know where can i download the ClearNvram.ef file to add to the tools folder?

It can be found in the OpenCore folder you used when creating your EFI folder.

Do not use a ClearNvram.efi tool from a different version of OC, it needs to match with the OpenCore.efi version you are using.
