Best of Both worlds? can I have Nvida and AMD?

anyone know of any way I can via the bios or some other way switch on and off the video cards so that tI could have AMD and Nvidia cards installed and turn them on and off in hardware or bios. I dual boot and would like to enjoy my Nvidia card in windows, but I would like to have it be ignored in mac os without wasting PCI lanes when it is not in use. same for Nvidia. I have a board that has the slots, an ASUS Z390 with an i9 9900KF I wasn't to use the Radeon VII I have in Mac os and have the Nvidia RTX card get ignored. not even powered up if possible. Then, when I boot into windows, I want to disable the AMD card and enable the Nvidia card.

Is it possible to do this in the bios or something really hate having to physically swap the cards every time I wanna play WZ.

You can try a couple of things.

First place the RTX in slot 1.
Place the VII in slot 2.

Cable connections either a multi selector box to switch between cards for the monitor connection. Some monitors have 2 or more inputs so you can select at the monitor. You don’t want to route monitor cable(s) through a single card.

With this configuration there are a couple of ways to do it.

1. nv_disable=1 boot arg.
Pros: it’s easy, and will disable the RXT.
Cons: it may disable the card in Windows. You can boot into bios and select the Windows drive for boot but this can get old.

2. Create a SSDT to disable the card and set “if Darwin” so it only effects MacOS. There are samples of this on the intra-webs. Dortania guide may have link or example.
Pros: dual boot with no problem.
Cons: might be a little technical but it is doable.
