Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Has anything changed from 11.3 to 11.3.1?
I'm afraid to upgrade to 11.3, because I lost all the USB mapping and the system is crashing as soon as I enter with my user.
XhciLimit is disabled and I removed the USBInjectall, and recreated the USB MAP, but it keeps crashing.

11.3.1 contains security update for WebKit. I think it fixes a serious vulnerability.

I don't know why your system is crashing.

Clover EFI updated to r5134

OpenCore EFI updated to 0.6.9

All kexts updated to latest release versions in both.

Please test using a USB flash drive before deleting your existing EFI.
Hello @pastrychef !

I create a USB key (that I used for the original install of my Big Sur system) and changed the EFI partition with the 0.6.9 OC update that I download from your post.

But when I boot with F12 to select the USBkey to boot with, the USB key isn't shown o_O

Do you have an idea ?

Thanks

I don't know what can cause that...

Hi @pastrychef,
And hello everyvody!

I’ve try Big Sur 11.13 and 11.13.1 (update and clean install) but with these 2 versions my hackintosh freeze after 1or 2 minutes (nvme kernel panic)
Never had this pb before...
(I’m running osx on an NVMe Samsung 970 Evo on last firmware 2B2QEXE7)

After lots of kexts tests (NVMEfix,...), I remove my dGPU just to try (Sapphire RX580 Nitro+) -> no more kernel panic...

So I install again 11.13 (and 11.13.1 to try also with it) but this time I deactivate the card in BIOS -> kernel panic again in the 2 versions.

I remove the card from the slot, boot again and -> everything work.

I reinstall Big Sur 11.2.3, put the dGPU back in -> everything work.

I don’t understand why it works on 11.2.3 and not after? Does Apple remove some files in 11.3? Why a dGPU make my nvme panic?

Does someone with the same config encounter this pb?
Sorry for my poor english.

hope someone could help,
Thanks!

I have no idea...

I've never tried NVMEfix and don't have a 970 EVO Plus to test.

I used an i5-9400F with iMacPro1,1 for a while before I upgraded to an i9-9900K. There's no reason to use iMac18,2.

Color profile? What do you mean?

Thank you again Pastrychef, I'm using Mac hack for two weeks now, and its stable
My USB type-c port is also working. I made tethered photoshoot, and I connect my Lacie via that port as well.

Do you recommend upgrading CPU from i5-8400 to i9-9900k? How much of a performance boost will it give? In general system and photoshop...

Thank u.

I had an i5-9400F installed at one point, and I found that there's a noticeable difference pretty much everything compared to a 9900K. If you can find a 9900K for a good price, I would recommend it.

Hi @pastrychef -

I've been adapting your EFIs with pretty great success to my Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X system up till now. With the transition to OC 0.6.9, I'm having trouble waking my computer from sleep. I am still on the 2-button press to wake (I had bad luck with the kext that allows a 1-button wake). My rig will spin up with a single press, but it becomes unresponsive and doesn't restore to full wake after the second press. I have to reset the computer.

After a restart, when I do pmset -g log I see this message during the wake attempt that I don't see in OC 0.6.8:

Failure during wake: PEG0(),IGPU(),RP21(AppleAHCI),RP04(),RP07(AirPort_BrcmNIC),RP08(),RP09(IONVMeController),LPCB(SMCSuperIO),HDAS(),GLAN(IntelMausi) : Some drivers failed to handle setPowerState

Everything works fine in OC 0.6.8

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help. Just hoping 0.7.0 will be better.

Ted

There were no changes to the kexts installed on the config.plist.

Is your USB fix working? When you look in IORegistryExplorer, is there only 15 active ports?
