Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hi, Anybody cheeked VDA decoder status in Hackintool after the 11.3 update? Mine says failed. I used the exact EFI to boot 11.2.3 from another drive. It says fully supported. Also, I had the USB problem, too, but after mapping USB working fine. But HR VDA decoder still not working. I tried exact BIOS and EFI and booted 11.2.3. It is fine.
Although I'm on Big Sur 11.4 Beta 1, I did not notice any problem with VDA Decoder on 11.3 beta builds either.

  • Which version of macOS are you running?
  • When did these problems first occur?
  • The USB SSDT from Z490 Vision D cannot be used on the Vision G.
  • Please try the attached SSDT: SSDT-UIAC-VISION-G-V3.aml
  • As described in post 5873 above, add this file to OC/ACPI folder and add a reference in config.plist
  • Also disable the previous version: SSDT-UIAC-VISION-G-V2.aml
    • Just uncheck the Enabled field for this item
  • And of course, uncheck XhciPortLimit in the Kernel section of config.plist
This SSDT disables 6 ports in order to reach the 15 port limit. The following USB 2.0 ports have been disabled:
  • HS01 --> front panel USB-C port
  • HS03, HS04, HS05 --> the three USB Type A ports between the LAN connector and HDMI connector
  • HS06 --> The USB-C port on the rear IO panel
  • HS09 --> One of the two front panel USB 3.x Type A ports
USB 3.x devices are not affected. They will operate on all ports. Only USB 2.0 devices are disabled on the above six ports.

Thank you so much for this, CaseySJ. The SSDT made my system stable again, so far.

Thanks CSJ. Just in time. My 11.3 update would never have worked without this SSDT-UIAC-VISION-G-V3.aml update. I'm assuming this wasn't in the 068 package? Did I miss it? I updated using HackinDROM to 068. A very interesting bit of kit. Maybe that is why I didn't get it. Anyway, I'm glad I always read the forums before doing something stupid.

Glad to hear it!

This is not in the OC 0.6.8 EFI, but it seems I'll need to include it with the upcoming OpenCore 0.6.9 release first week of May.

The downside is of course the loss of six USB 2.0 ports... :(

Hey, what can you do? The 15 port limit is the limit. I did read about the change to the USB-C port. That hurt. It works with my USB-C hub but can't plug in my NVMe to triage it any more.

CaseySJ:

Can I try this ' SSDT-UIAC-VISION-D-V3.aml" also on Vision G or this only for D

Also I want to report that the update of Big Sur killed sleep some how on Z490 Vision G. Has anyone else experienced this?
Same here. Sleep is not working on my Vision G. I have the V3.aml version for the vision G installed and the ports are working, but not sleep.

I try to mapping the ports before to upgrade to 11.3... nothing! Don't works... then I tried with V3... USB ports working but I see that the graphics are soooo slow... I try to play to Shadows of Tomb Raider, but the graphics is really a disaster... now I return to 11.2.3 and for now I don't upgrade it!

I have found the pointing devices jumpy and unhappy. My Logitech MX Master 3 bluetooth mouse was jumpy as heck, detached it and now it's not recognized. My wired mouse is also jumpy as is my Apple Trackpad which is still recognized by bluetooth. I imagine the sleep is also a USB related issue. The V3 map for the G looks fine. I might just go back to 11.2.3 for now. This isn't much fun.

With that update somehow indeed sleep broke. But, after doing a fresh install of Big Sur, sleep worked again.

By fresh install, I mean to downlaod the Big Sur app 11.3 making a bootble USB disk to reinstall.

I will try. Thanks.
