Hello everyone,
I’m really sorry but these times I’m a bit lost, as I started planning my CustoMac before the release of Big Sur - which seems to change some things about OS installation.
I’m an IT newbie and I know that I’d probably have been more aware (in a way I got what I deserved) but your help would be much appreciated.
So I’m stuck to the bootable USB step, which I want to create from a Mavericks 10.9.5 MacBookPro 2012, and I have already built my new setup. I’d prefer to get a Big Sur on it, but Catalina would be fine. (Note that the latest versions of Opencore, for example, don’t work anymore on my macbook.)
-I got the Catalina installer (apparently full, 8.24GB) but, while following the Unibeast method, I had this “installer incomplete” message. Note that I couldn’t get the installer from the AppStore any longer, so I wildly downloaded it on the web.
-I got the Big Sur installer from the AppStore on another mac (mine was too old to get it downloaded, that was before I found out the gibMacOS trick), and here I’m a bit confused.
As Unibeast for Big Sur doesn’t seem to be developed yet, could you just refer to the proper method to create this fresh boot? What should I use, Opencore? Clover?
Does this Beta Big Sur guide also work for stable version? What about this one?
I'm a bit embarassed to stumble on this first step, for I hoped I could figure it out by myself.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the bother…
Have a nice day !
