[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

Imac20,1 also works for me. With 0.6.9 development files and the associated kexts.

Now that 11.4 beta 1 is on the public seed:

My 6900XT findings so far, tested on X299 i9-10980XE.
  1. agdpmod=pikera required to avoid black screen on boot, including on MacPro7,1 SMBIOS.
    1. No surprise as the X6000 kext series has been re-used for Big Navi.
    2. I haven't tested without WhateverGreen.
  2. Multi-monitor works perfectly. I have four monitors connected.
    1. I'm using: 2 x DP, 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB-C to DP
    2. One monitor is 3840x2160, other three are 1920x1200. All are 60hz.
  3. H264/H265 encode/decode are both working fine.
  4. HDMI/DP sound is working.
  5. Sleep/wake is working fine.
  6. Fans seem OK so far: still when the card is idle, spinning up when it's not.
  7. Benchmarks:
    1. GeekBench 5.4 Metal: max 183k, lowest 160k
    2. GeekBench 5.4 OpenCL: max 122k, lowest 111k
    3. Octane X "Chess Set Procedural" : 11 seconds
      1. Compared to: Radeon Pro Vega II - 18s; Radeon VII - 19s; NVidia 2070 - 19s; 5700XT - 21s
      2. This result is particularly pleasing - nearly double the performance of the 5700XT, and 40+% faster than the Radeon Pro VII and standard VII.
      3. I'd love to see a figure comparing it to a 3080 on CUDA, I reckon it'd be close.
So far, looking good!
I have no audio out of the USB C yet. Do you have any audio through USB C?

I certainly have audio detected on USB-C; all my monitors show up as sound outputs.

However the monitor I currently have plugged into the USB-C does not have any speakers, so I can't test it. I only have one monitor with speakers and it's on one of the DP ports.

Tomorrow I will swap the connectors and let you know.

EDIT: It works, I do have DP sound from the USB-C port.

Actually I just remembered that that monitor has a 3.5mm sound output jack. I plugged in some headphones and yes, I do have working DP sound on the USB-C port.

Sounds GOOD
I'd like to see a comparison in ADOBE SUITE & DAVINCI with Radeon VII,
by the way...I don't think that at this moment selling my R.VII to add money and get a 6900 XT could be a good idea ... especially because in my opinion the next M1 will be very interesting for the productivity of these applications :D
For me, who already have an excellent card for my needs, it is better to wait along the river bank
... for those who have a 580 or for those who want to build a Hack right now it would certainly be the card to buy :headbang:

... but not at current prices!:banghead:

Could you run Blackmagic Raw speed test?

Is that good? I don't have anything to compare it against. Judging by fan/coil whine noise it only stresses the GPU for a second or two at a time.

Have you had any issued with waking from either sleep/display off? I'm guessing its the USB Type-C causing the issue, but I'm only using Display port for now. Just curious if you had any issues like that.

No, all good from both display sleep and normal sleep.

Good to know. If I remove the display port and plug back in, its back up. So it seems like its not holding onto the signal. Weird.
