I haven't really been that thrilled with my RX-580...but then again bulk of my rendering is on the CPU and my 6700 just isn't cutting it...
If you can wait until next October or November my guess is that the larger iMac will be more like an upgrade to the iMac Pro that has been discontinued. It should be more suited for professional use. The M1X or whatever they call it will probably have 12 or more cores. Possibly with a display more like a lower cost version of the XDR stand alone display. Hopefully ram upgrades will go up to 64 GB as well. Maybe we'll even see the rumored new Apple dedicated graphics card make it's appearance by then.

Apple and Skittles Candy merged? Taste the Rainbow! Except for the M1 chip I’m disappointed, the colors remind me of the iMac G3 which I think I liked better.
The colors now are pretty close to what they were back in the early 2000s. They didn't have yellow back then. Don't think the G3s had any Aluminium either so there was no Silver iMac. There was a graphite version. That had clear see through plastic.

Ironic that Tim Cook started at Apple back in 1998 when the first G3 iMacs were produced.

IF they had a 1TB SSD/16GB RAM option (27" future model?), I'd definitely get the purple one!

iMac? Id rather have an M1 Air or the new Ipad Pro with something to keep them cool. They give the portability and when plugged into a desktop monitor the same power as the iMac. Im sure there will be a few who end up with all three forms but they seem so similar in capabilities that I can see a lot of people going for the Ipad and docking accessories for all their needs. When do IOS and OSX merge?

I couldn't help thinking how totally un-upgradable the line-up is. To get that thin there has to be SM memory and SSD. At least with the M1 Mac Mini you can actually open it and look inside. I guess that's not possible with these iMacs.

The speakers seem quite clever, but iMac speakers have always performed faily well. To get them into 11.5mm must be similar to those periscope optical zooms in mobile-phones.

We spoke about a power-bricks before. No problem with that as you can easily buy a second if you need to.

Magic mouse looks the same as the previous just in more colours. The touch-ID keyboard is interesting but I want an extended keyboard!

If pushed colour would have to be silver. But with a black frame to the screen. Maybe some enterprising 3rd-party will come up with a black frame sticker!
that’s their whole idea. adopting the smartphone model. one unified monolithic piece. Customer has to buy an entire new unit to upgrade (more RAM, more storage or new cpu).

iPad Pro with M1 chip, the next Apple
product to join my house during this year.
Amazing for what you get with 799$.

Looking forward after with a M2/M1X MacBookPro with the redesign hopefully.

The existing chassis is still modern even for today standards but i am sure they are their next redesign devices in queue.

The iMac Redesign without a Space Gray color and Black Bezzels is a no go for me.
Yes bezzels could be thinner, yes they do have a chin but the chin is perfectly fine for me.

Yeah. I was a bit disappointed to see fans in the iMac. I'm sure they could have found a way to make it completely fanless by using all that aluminum to cool the M1. I'm pretty sure the iMac will be sealed with lots of glue making cleaning of the fans near impossible.
