Z490 & Z590 - Will Z590 ever have macOS Support ?

@Middleman

So I tried it out for myself. But it seems to be just there, but not to have fully iGPU support.

E.g. you can see that VideoProc is not detecting h264/h265 hardware encoding support.

Thanks @SchmockLord19, this is interesting. Did you check the Graphics/Display section to see what it shows? @verancl said he had used Comet Lake's CPUID.

Other than that, to enable the Quicksync you do also need to add device-id field to your iGPU which I believe is 9BC80003. That setting plus the slot platform id has worked for me in my builds before.

Also I can see your new GPU's device-id under the Info section is showing and id of 4C8A. That seems to be the Rocket Lake iGPU's actual device-id (if we add say 0300 in front). Perhaps that setting could be tested?

Friends, Gigabyte just released an F5b for the Z590i Vision D today.

Will test that again :)
I already have it.
Looks like I'll have to take back my words on the Z590...thanks to the efforts of @verancl the iGPU on the new 11th gen DOES WORK in Big Sur!
Driver not loaded.

Today I talked for an hour with the Gigabyte maintainer. I told him that a Thunderbolt hotplug was necessary. He reported it to Taiwan.

The F5b BIOS hot plug on the Windows 10 still doesn't work.

What was the mood of the Gigabyte rep? How did this thing get certified as Thunderbolt 4 if basic hot plug doesn’t work and persists across several BIOS generations from F2 all the way to F6b? Perhaps it’s the controller that gets certified and not the motherboard that uses it?

The Z490 Vision D didn’t have this problem from what I can recall. Hopefully they are able to fix it soon.

do you have to use CPU ID to spoof it, if so can you share with me which id did use, or is booting without, and is everything els working, i know the IGPU is not going to work but i m curious about the rest, before i buy

iGPU has not been the most important thing for me so far. I wanted to run a second M.2 SSD.
The processor is detected as i5 when writing like this. I don't know yet how to make it detect as i7.

THANKS:
can you try this to see if can detected as i7 ( EC060900) just replace the "EB060800" with it if you can, try it with EFI in usb stick.

if its to much work or you dont want to mess with your systeem than its ok,
