Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I have this system:
MB: Gigabyte Z490 Vision G
CPU: Intel Core i5-1500 6 Core
RAM: DDR4 64 GB 3200 GHz
Graphics: Radeon RX 570 - 8 GB DDR5
NVMe M.2 Samsung SSD 970 EVO (1 TB) + Crucial SSD P2 - 2 TB (secondary)
WiFi+Bluethoot: MQUPIN BCM94360CD (recognized natively by Big Sur and previous)

With new OpenCore updated to 0.6.8 version on VISION G at starting boot appear this message:

And the mouse and the cursor to select the system doesn't works fine.
Please test this release, thank you.
I’ll take a look. By the way, how did you copy serial numbers into the new config.plist? With OpenCore Configurator or HackinDROM website?

@grafiko,

Please do not quote the entire mini-guide. If you use the "Reply" button, just manually select-and-delete all of the lines except the first 2 or 3 lines.

The OpenCore 0.6.8 EFI that I posted yesterday is okay. The problems you are seeing are due to "OpenCore Configurator" 2.33.0.0. This version does not support Release Version of OC 0.6.8 and should not be used.

I will post a mini-guide for using the new HackinDROM App soon.

** Mini-Guide to Disable AMD RX 6000 Series GPU **
Please do not quote this guide in its entirely. Post a link or excerpt instead.

AMD's RX 6000 series GPUs are not currently supported in macOS. While we wait for native drivers to appear (hopefully) we can temporarily hide the 6000-series GPU from macOS so that the system boots up properly and sleeps/wakes properly.

Simply copy the appropriate SSDT to the OpenCore OC/ACPI folder and add a reference to it in config.plist --> ACPI section.
  • If AMD 6000 series GPU is in Slot 1, use the file SSDT-Disable-RX6000-GPU-Slot-1.aml
  • If AMD 6000 series GPU is in Slot 2, use the file SSDT-Disable-RX6000-GPU-Slot-2.aml

2 October 2022:

To disable AMD 5xxx (e.g. RX 5700 XT) and 6xxx (e.g. RX 6800 XT) GPUs, the newly attached files may be used:

  • To disable 5xxx and 6xxx GPU in Slot 1, use the file SSDT-Disable-AMD-GPU-Slot-1.aml
  • To disable 5xxx and 6xxx GPU in Slot 2, use the file SSDT-Disable-AMD-GPU-Slot-2.aml
To disable AMD 5xx (e.g. RX 580) GPUs, these files may be used:
  • To disable 5xx GPU in Slot 1, use the file SSDT-Designare-Z390-Disable-RX500-Slot-1.aml
  • To disable 5xx GPU in Slot 1, use the file SSDT-Designare-Z390-Disable-RX500-Slot-2.aml

CAUTION: Please monitor backplate temperature of the 'disabled' GPU with a temperature probe or thermal imaging probe. The card may remain powered although a driver won't attach to it. Periodically check to see if the disabled GPU's fans spin up to maintain a safe temperature.

** Guide to Using HackinDROM Application to Update OpenCore **

Purpose:
OpenCore is currently being updated every month. Updating our EFI folders at such a high frequency can become tedious and error prone. Fortunately, @Inqnuam has developed a wonderful little app that does all of the work for us. This illustrated mini-guide walks us through the entire process.

Can you please answer the questions related to which USB/TB3 port each drive is connected to? Have you tried running Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on each of the two drives? The test should be run 3 times to see if performance slows down as the drives heat up.
Sure, sorry, The TB3 I connected in both ports, same with most USB3. I tried the red ports, tried the blue ports, and tried the yellow ports. I run Black Magic Speed Test, and it starts in 481MB/s then drops down to 72MB/s for the internal dives. (I have an SSD!)
The RAID I run for a long time, and speed test is around 900MB/s write, 700 MB/s read. First couple of seconds it goes up to 1500MB/s, then it drops dramatically.

Hi everyone,

Can anybody write a mini guide, or, if there is one already, to post here a link of it.

HOW TO SPOOF OR HOW TO FAKE CPUID FOR OPENCORE. ?

I know where you can put it in the OpenCore Configurator but have no idea how to make one.

Like example for i5-11600K OR i7-11700K, which I want to buy.

CaseySJ :

Maybe if you have the time to explain us who have less knowledge, how to do that s.v.p.

Just about to test this - It renamed the EFI partition of my SanDisk Flash drive. Is that supposed to happen? It is now called "EFI-USB-908"
