pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

This is normal. This is not a problem. With Big Sur, you must boot from preboot.
Oh, ok then.

I've got big problem now, Davinci resolve 17.1.1 hungs when i hit playback, when i scrub, it scrubs fine, playback plays like 0.5 seconds and then beachball starts swirling and i have to force quit davinci resolve. I have Deckling 4k playback card, updated that software too, no joy. I hope i can get it fixed, if not, i have huge problem in my hand.
Edit: so far it seems BM Decklink card does not work with Big Sur, looking for solutions.

Also 1 weird thing, when clover boots up, it counts down 2 seconds to 0 and then it hungs, unless i manully "enter" to boot, any solutions to that ?

Thanks @pastrychef

Please post your config.plist.

I don't know why Clover hangs for you.

I don't see anything that can mess with your DeckLink...

Try this config.plist.
@pastrychef Ok got it working now, thanks alot!

Decklink needed reinstalling etc, so with dr17 seems ok now.

@Goiniro

85C for CPU is very good. 85C for GPU might be too hot.

When my Vega hits 85c while playing world of warcraft in areas with high visual effects I would get crashes. Also when working in twin motion with a very large scene with lots of landscaping, clouds, and lighting it also crashes. For me it seems like a high level of Effects running + high temps triggered the crashes. Since under volting the card runs roughly 10 to 15C cooler and crashes have disappeared.

I used VGtab to do the under volting!

Clover EFI updated to r5132.
  • All kexts updated to latest release versions.

OpenCore EFI updated to 0.6.8.
  • All kexts updated to latest release versions.
  • Do not use your old config.plist. Instead, copy your Serial, Board Serial, UUID, and MAC address to new config.plist.

I highly recommend testing new EFIs with USB flash drive before replacing your existing EFI.

It is also recommended that you clear NVRAM a few times after updating to a new EFI.

Updated to your OC 0.6.8 and the attached photo shows this screen during boot then after the apple starts to load halfway then nothing, the OS doesn't seem to load.
Only changed SecureBootModel to Disabled and added agdpmod=pikera to the new 0.6.8 config.
cleared NVRAM twice before loading. Reverted back to 0.6.7 for now. Thank you

Edited for clarity
