Gigabyte B550 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + AMD Ryzen 7 3700X + AMD RX 5600 XT

My new set up works properly on Ryzentosh (Vision D + 5900X)
Glad to hear it!
- Firmware update Gigabyte 13c with usb 2
- I change the Smbios to MacPro7,1 (Ram error solved)
How did you fix the memory notification problem?
- I flashed Thunderbolt (not good, not bad but I think it is depend on my Blackmagic device with thunderbolt adaptator...)
Thunderbolt on AMD is getting better, but still not as good as on Intel.

I try to create ethernet Bridge with linux server but the project sounds complicate...
- Big Sur beta program 11.3

Anyone tested the new 11.3 beta 2 ?
I’m experiencing a strange issue where Software Update tries to find the latest public beta, but the wait-cursor spins indefinitely.

Do you have Bluetooth or WiFi with your B550 Vision D or your need to buy a special card for that? Do you think it's more stable to install Big Sur first or Catalina? This is my first try to mount PC and also hackintosh. I hope I will not regret.

Hello @intgral,

Welcome to the forum. Regarding WiFi/Bluetooth, I recommend replacing the internal Intel AX200 module with a Broadcom BCM94360NG as described at the top of Post 1:

Note also that certain applications will not work on AMD Ryzentosh:
  • Virtualization apps such as VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop.
  • Some Adobe apps may crash unless a patch is applied.
  • Complex Thunderbolt devices such as UAD Apollo (audio interface) may exhibit issues such as audio stutter.

@CaseySJ: the link on the first page of this series is stale. The link at the last bullet point in the below note. If that post is available I would appreciate apointer.

NOTE 2: The following devices/drivers may cause problems and should be avoided:

  • The MQUPIN Fenvi T919 may cause wake-from-sleep and other issues. It should be avoided if possible. Refer to this post for more information. An alternative is the YOUBO.
  • BIOSTAR NVMe SSDs can conflict with NVMeFix.kext.
  • SK Hynix P31 Gold NVMe SSDs are currently not compatible with macOS. Details here.
  • In Windows, do not install Intel Optane drivers (which are part of Intel Rapid Storage). These drivers can change BIOS SATA port configuration from AHCI to Intel Octane. macOS requires "AHCI".
  • Samsung 970 EVO (not Plus) with manufacturing date of 2020.10 or later must be avoided. Refer to this post for details.

Support for some Nvidia GPUs such as GTX 680, GTX 780, and GTX 8800 that were natively supported has not ended. As far as I know, they support OpenCL, but not Metal. Newer models are not mentioned or supported.

Right now I can confirm that Nvidia GTX 770 Kepler is working, and it's Native. I'm on Big Sur 11.2.2 on Asrock X570M Pro4 with 3600x and Nvidia GTX 770.
Here the Nvidia list from dortania: Nvidia GPUs | GPU Buyers Guide (dortania.github.io)
the only problem I encountered is that I can't disable CSM because without it I see only black screen at boot and so I can't use 4G Decoding (solved with npci=0x2000).

here the screen

If sleep is working on your ASRock X570 Taichi, then you have piqued my interest...

Attached is the OpenCore 0.6.6 EFI folder from my own X570 Taichi, but with serial numbers removed. You're welcome to try this (with your serial numbers in PlatformInfo --> DataHub) to see if sleep/wake works.

I can do the same with your EFI folder.
Hi @CaseySJ I'm sorry for double post. I saw this post with the EFI attached, and I downloaded it because I'm on AsRock X570M Pro4 with 3600X.

I tried to make a comparison with your EFI. I attach mine (without serial of course) if you want to take a look. I'm on 11.2.2 and I think everything works, including sleep/wake and the power button of the case xD I saw on your EFI a patch delete DropAMDTable, can I ask you what is that?

P.S. Is there a github page or site/thread where I can find your work with Taichi and Creator?

@CaseySJ no new of your AMD 5950 ? or 5900
Alas I decided to hold off while I wait for new models from Apple and next generation processors from both AMD and Intel.

But I may purchase an AMD RX 6000-series GPU once macOS supports it.
