Z490 & Z590 - Will Z590 ever have macOS Support ?

I think that is current model as I doubt we see another Intel Mac with so little changes. Seems odd to do that.

Also, now that I have a MacBook Pro M1, I can say the performance really negates needing to update the Intel models. This laptop outperforms my MacBook Pro 16 top model.

I have a Z490 board (Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme with Core i5-10400) so I will definitely be upgrading to the 11th gen CPU. My initial thoughts on it are that they should at least work with macOS. Aside from this, the current Comet Lake chipset should theoretically run Sierra to Big Sur no problem, considering it is based on the Skylake architecture. But no one I have yet heard (except myself), has a Z490 system running High Sierra or has gone as far back as Sierra. It would be interesting to see how well it works (with Sierra).
The problem is the 11th gen is not going to be based on Skylake architecture and will also not have a supported iGPU. That said, AMD is not supported either, but it now works with some patches so it could be possible that it will work just fine.

As for myself, I found my software replacement for Revit in Chief Architect after watching about 30/hrs worth of training videos the 7-year divorce from Windows is about complete. While M1 isn't supported with Chief Architect just yet, and I will wait till the next-gen with more memory and better video to come out I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Some of the 11th gen are based on Sky Lake and others are not. Sounds like they monkey-patched the 14nm process with their Comet Lake mobile and produced the 11th gen desktop dumpster fire.

Just checked the Gigabyte page today - looks like the specs for the Z590 Aorus Xtreme are now officially up.

An interesting update if I may say so, some of the changes being it now has Thunderbolt 4, Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 (instead of AX201) and Smartfan 6 features. However it has lost support for NVIDIA's Quad-GPU and 2 Way SLI. Otherwise the general specs of the board is still very close to the Z490.

Hi, I have Z490 GE Elite AC, I am running High Sierra and up to Big Sur 11.2.1, I was amazed when HS worked on a Z490 board

What about 10th gen CPU on Z590? Is that going to work?
Well, my guess is that it should work as Catalina and Big Sur support 10th generation Intel CPUs. But who knows unless someone were to test such a combination and tell us?

And even if it can boot into MacOS, some features on the new motherboard may not work correctly in MacOS.

as we speak, I sold my Asus Z390-A Prime, 9600K Build and ship it out tomorrow!

As such, I'm deciding on purchasing an Asus Z490-A Prime, or Asus Z590-A Prime - and while I was not too excited to lean on going Z490, this thread makes me hopeful here that the Z590 will be hackintoshable soon!

(and ideally I'd like to go Z590 and a 10th Get CPU if possible, tho I understand the drawbacks) Any feedback for me before purchasing please feel free to share!
