So Let me just start off by saying that I've had this issue since I built this machine on Catalina. I have combed the internet trying to find answers with ZERO luck. I have also posted on here back in November asking for help, with ZERO responses as well. So here I am again. Hopefully, someone will stumble upon it and be able to help.

So I have a DP monitor that works fine. But HDMI doesn't work. When I boot the machine, the HDMI works for a few seconds before opencore takes over, then it just goes black. I've tried plugging and unplugging, with and without the DP monitor plugged in. When I plug in the HDMI cable while the computer is running, the system flashes like it is going to receive a signal, but nothing happens.

I don't know if I have configured improperly or perhaps I have the wrong kext or missing one? I can't figure it out.

I'm desperate to get dual monitors working again! If it were the case of needing to have a GPU, I would gladly just go out and buy one...if there were any (affordable) AMD cards available right now! I just can't seem to catch a break!

Enclosed is a copy of my EFI folder (updated after some hackintool tweaking, with no effect). Thanks in advance!

Connectors probably need patching.

Thanks, I saw that guide awhile back, but the GUI being completely different in the current hackintool threw me off. I'm looking at it now and I still can't really navigate it right. Though I'm wondering if those predefined connector patches would work for me, I see that all the Asus patches seem to be identical.

It's worth a try... The worse that can happen is that it won't work...

Tried it, and it kinda worked! The HDMI monitor now works...but only if I unplug and replug the HDMI cable (after restart and sleep). I made sure my FramebufferID was correct, I went through and tried changing the BusID to every combination that I could, but none of them fixed the problem. I even went back and followed all the steps (while translating them to Opencore standards) to make sure I didn't miss anything by just using the predefined Asus patches.

I must have missed something, but I have no idea what!

HDMI has always been spotty for me. The only way I can get it to work reliably is to either (1) lower refresh rate to 30Hz or (2) lower resolution. Sometimes both.

Have you tried using Hackintool’s patch function? There is a setting called Enable HDMI 2.0 and Intel GPU only which supposedly should rectify your issue. Those plus setting the DVMT to 64GB may do the trick.

This is the first time I've had HDMI issues, but I guess it's because I've either always had a GPU or was just plain lucky. The monitor(s) work perfectly fine after I giggle the cable to disconnect and connect it....ugh...I guess I just have to be patient until I can find an AMD card that's affordable.

Thanks for your help with this. Now on to my next issue of getting this thing to awake on USB!

Hackintool is all I've been playing with these past couple of days. I've got the monitor working, but only if I disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable. Pretty sure I have all those suggestions enables. But I'll have to check again to be sure.

My HDMI issues also happen with discrete graphics cards. Maybe I'm the only one...
