[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

So I see a clue in the Console app as to why my Hack is randomly shutting down... It seems like a system shutdown is initiated even though I was not using the computer at the time...

Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT:

Perhaps related to my UPS (it is connected via USB)?

EDIT 2:
Seems like this was it. Adjusting the slider made the computer shutdown instantly after logging in... had to unplug the USB cable, updated the CyberPower software... so far, so good.

Yes it does appear as if the UPS triggered shutdown. I have both the CP1500PFCLCD and the CP1350PFCLCD, the latter being connected to my Z390 Designare. I have disabled the auto-shutdown options, but will turn them on and see if this issue ever occurs.

Meanwhile, check if your UPS battery is charging properly and whether it might need to be replaced. I use a label printer to print the date when (a) the unit was first installed and (b) each time the battery is replaced. I tend to replace UPS batteries every 4-5 years.

We can also install the CyberPower PowerPanel app, which looks something like this (but this app can be finicky on Big Sur):

Hi @CaseySJ !

My t919 Fenvi wifi card has slowed in speed. Normally its shows 867mbs but now it is showing 217mbs and going super slow. I have not updated anything. Any thoughts?

Interferences...
USB SSD, Other Bluetooth/Wifi devices microwave PSU
Fenvi products aren't very well isolated from interferences

Maybe your neighbor bought a new microwave...
Interferences are very difficult to investigate
I have the same problem
If truly nothing has changed from the inside, then perhaps something has changed on the outside! :) If you're using the computer in an office setting or apartment, it may well be exposed to additional interference. Even if you're using the computer in a single-family residence, it's possible that new WiFi networks have been set up by neighbors.

Even in my low-density residential district I see the SSIDs of quite a few neighbors.

I'm now using @CaseySJ his pre-made OC EFI and it works perfectly fine.

I have a small glitch though; when booting via OpenCore and when selecting Windows, it very often doesn't recognize my keyboard. So, when bitlocker asks for the password I can't enter anything. When directly select the Windows drive (from BIOS screen) the keyboard works instantly.

Do you gents know a solution to this?
Did you solve that?

Do you think it is the new router?

Can you recommend a good WiFi 6 USB WiFi card?

a good WiFi 6 USB WiFi card?
For macOS there are no good ones. Keep in mind that macOS has a very limited selection for native Wifi and Bluetooth cards. Apple has primarily used Broadcom branded cards. The FV-T919 is BCM94360CD. BCM of course is short for Broadcom. There are basic Intel drivers being developed but they are a WIP, work in progress. Not good enough for longer term use yet.

It doesn't have to be natively supported. I just need Internet.
