This config has been a lifesaver.... My new Gigabyte Z490 Aorus master Hackintosh is working well and handoff is going ... could not be happier. Am having issues with SOUND OUT however. The rear plugs MAY think they are digital and the earphone (front jack) just does not deliver any audio. I can get audio via AIRPLAY but not through a physical port (oh HDMI works but my wife will kill me). Audio Out pointers?

I have no sound problem, I use an external sound card, but I tested, the front socket as well as the rear outputs work, I could not test the optical output but the light is visible so I think it should work.
Are you using the right good kexts? or your audio setup is correct?

If it is the same card as my Z490 Aorus Xtreme, try using alcid=28 in the boot-args.

The process was simple I used the EFI folder provided here and made no changes except fixing iMessage etc. I believe I had headsets working at first also. Migration Assistant was used to port an old mac and its data and I guess no sound since then..... Everything else works,

No change after this. It's an Aorus Master Rev 1

alcid=28 is known to work for this codec (Realtek alc1220-vb). Have you added in the ‘rename HDAS to HDEF’ ACPI patch and added in latest AppleALC.kext to EFI/OC/Kexts?

try with that:
this's an update

Sorry for the delay, an unbootable system followed by an accidental disk format and re-install did not make this any better or faster. I have used the new EFI folder provided. Curious issues that would be worth getting feedback on:
1. I get an error on boot in Opencore with <generateyour> listed but this is not in config.plist - Not sure where it's coming from or how to kill it
2. Hackintool NVRAM output still indicates alcid=7 and even after much googling I cannot find how to lock in a change
3. Of course still no sound out

Bundling up EFI and a couple photo's

If you use Opencore Configurator, that NVRAM value is found under your NVRAM section and the second device listed in the boot-args section. Change the alcid to 28 and see if the sound works.
