[GUIDE] Atari VCS (2020) Console

Amazing! That design fits -like a charm- with this keyboard:

Cheers!

This is a guide for booting the Atari VCS natively on macOS.

Great detailed guide.

However, you should change the first sentence as it is wrong. It implies some kind of virtual machine on macOS to run Atari VCS.
It should read "This is a guide for booting macOS on the Atari VCS natively."

It not a guide on how to boot Atari VCS on macOS.

Keep up the good work.

I don't know about booting macOS on one of these, but just bought one for the nostalgia. Can't wait for it to arrive. Brings back memories of the 2600 we had growing up. I didn't even know this was a thing! Thanks for sharing but damn you for bringing this to my attention. ;)

You're welcome!

Awesome! Just wondering, is it possible to do that on a Nintendo Switch?
Thanks!

Nintendo Switch? Technically it could do (afaik) because it runs on ARM processors (specifically ARM 4 Cortex A57s from Nvidia) but whether it has been achieved is a different matter because Nintendo will likely have special firmware running on it preventing this. Plus the BIOS will need to be UEFI enabled. As it does not work like a PC ie. boot from an external USB that rules it out. With the launch of the Apple M1 and Big Sur OS hackintoshing on non-Apple ARM devices is still at a very early stage. But with the Nintendo Switch its likely also to be hampered by the fact there are no drivers for the JoyCons.

"...Big Sur OS hackintoshing on non-Apple ARM devices is still at a very early stage..."

Meaning not at all. The M1 is not just an ARM processor but a SoC. This is custom not just a standard ARM processor.

Exactly! And if peeps want to run macOS on ARM systems we need more guinea pigs I mean testers :D
