[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Still waiting for an Installation Guide using OC
I've put together a beginner's video guide for making the OpenCore USB installer with Big Sur. Catalina can be used as well but the video only shows Big Sur. Make your USB installer to have it ready to go when Sniki posts the full install guide. If you already have your hardware set and working you can skip the first two minutes and go to the Big Sur download part at 2:01. If you do proceed with the install, remember to take out the Catalina/Clover or OC SSD you have been using. Install to a clean 2.5" SSD or format that if you have data you no longer need on it.

as previously booting Clover on the same HP can cause conflicts with what it has left stored in NVRAM. This way you can try out Big Sur but still go back to Catalina Clover or OC if you'd like to. You older install will still continue to work just as it did before.

Buying a new SSD to try the install ? $22.99 at Amazon for a new PNY 120GB.
Good deals on 240GB drives if you need more storage. $29.99.

Thanks for that video guide trs96 and everyone else involved in creating it. I kinda like the concept. I will give this a try once I’m back from covid-19 rehab. Sorry to those offended by my typos.

as usual wonderful work trs96 i have a question how can i update sniki's open core 6.3 to the latest 6.5

Hi, Is it possible to Install a Xeon in the HP Elite 6300 Pro SSF, as they have the same Socket. I Understand that the BIOS must support this as well, and after checking the HP Website, i see this

As you can see, the HP Downloads page (For the HP Elite 6300 Pro) does not mention Xeon being supported/non supported!

I also found this post on the tomhardware's website, and one guy said he knows a guy in Vietnam that sells HP 6300 with the Xeons Installed!

These Older Ivy Bridge Xeons are REALLY cheap and even have official support in macOS Big Sur because of the Mac Pro 6,1!

Also can someone clarify which Ivy Bridge Xeon is the best?!

Thanks in Advance!

Unless there's a compelling reason you must do it, I'd stay with 6.3 until you need to be on 6.5 or newer. I'd guess that Sniki will probably update the Repo with 6.6 in February so wait for that in a week or two. Then it's just a matter of copying your serials and SMUUID to the new config.plist.

Any one updated to 11.2 yet?

my system can not seem to find the 11.2 update. can any shade some light on it. The "train/profile" and "Show pre-release updates" are empty and doesnt let me choose.

@aarkayx
csr-active-config should be set to 00000000 if you are using OpenCore.
