mine is a XFX RX-570 P8DFD6 so it must be so...
and seems to happen at random thou it didn't happen lately...
fingers crossed and I will keep looking after a fix when I have time
Your card is on the poo poo list, BTW. As for my RX570, I did upgrade to Big Sur, and still no issues. No quirks at all unlike the iGPU. Note it says you could flash the BIOS at a risk for the XFX card. Here's the link I'm referring to and if you scroll up a bit, it talks about flashing the BIOS.

  1. Make sure you have a second computer.
  2. Create a backup of data
  3. Create a new partition/container or put on a new hard drive (so it doesn't mess up Mojave if install goes poorly).
  4. Setup OpenCore EFI using the official Guide & Coffee Lake instructions.
  5. Remove Clover EFI on Hard drive.
  6. Remove Clover EFI from Unibeast/Clover USB Drive or create new one according to OC instructions.
  7. Fill in a fake APPL,ig-platform-id in your OC config.plist. (something that isn't real that isn't suggested, and especially nothing from this list. Make it 12345678 or something (not the ones suggested by the OC Guide yet).
  8. Install from OpenCore USB to new partition/container on Hardrive.
  9. You won't have any graphics acceleration, but I think a functional iGPU is required for install.
  10. Move EFI on USB to EFI on Hard drive.
  11. Turn on VNC/Screenshare/Remote Desktop (just in case).
  12. Put these graphics settings to get iGPU stable:

  13. Reboot and ensure your iGPU connectors and acceleration work (if that matters to you).
  14. Put this boot-arg in the NVRAM section so you have stable sleep with monitors: igfxonln=1
    View attachment 489213
  15. Drop the Mic and realized I've saved you 2 weeks of time (if everything goes well).
  16. I might post my EFI once I feel like I've perfected it and if anyone cares to see it.
  17. I don't know anything about dGPU stuff.
Thanks to @pastrychef & @UtterDisbelief for their help finally getting Catalina on this mobo.
When I using your UHD 630 settings I am losing 4K. Monitor turn 2K and it's not sharp.

I've only tested it on 1080p monitors. @pastrychef knows a bit more about above 1080p resolutions and high refresh rate. I'd recommend at least getting an inexpensive compatible dGPU in the long term. For now, try adjusting the refresh rate because I believe the UHD 630 will only go as high as 60Hz. Also, the connection type is important such as HDMI vs. DisplayPort and the type of HDMI version it is, etc.

Thanks, I sold my old discrete card for a new one and I am using UHD 630 temporary with DisplayPort with 60Hz. I will try HDMI tomorrow. Thanks again.

Gotcha. According to Intel web site, you can only get 24Hz at 4K-ish resolution with HDMI. But it would be good test. There could be additional limitations with macOS or having a Hackintosh/this mobo. It's also possible there are additional framebuffers needed.

Usually people have less issues with DisplayPort.

Heya, don't mean to hijack the interesting convo (Open Core seems interesting). I have a build:

OS - Catalina 10.15.7
RAM - 32GB
CPU - i7-9700K
GPU - AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
Model (smbios) iMac19,1

But I have been running to some kernel panics recently while having video calls and sharing my screen. Basically, screen freezes, the GPU LEDs go 100% and then the GPU fan runs at 100% until the system crashes. I think this is related to something between CPU - GPU (maybe memory). I don't use the integrated. Also, when the computer wakes, the screens sometimes everything is purple, and then, after a second, they get back to normal. Also, sleep does not work with my setup. I think that is because I maybe have a bad ACPI patches? When I first setup this system, I had to do it on a whim. It is that I guess now I have a weekend to burn.

Overall, I feel that it might be my sloppiness/lazyness and the fact that some patches from clover aren't that "great". Anyone had KPs when doing video calls or sharing their screen with a Vega 56 or other GPU?
Hey, I have the same setup as you except I'm running Big Sur and Radeon XT 570 but I did have this setup on 10.15.7 until upgrading. I haven't experienced these issues. Do you have them when you are gaming on the Mac or Windows? Does it happen on Integrated for troubleshooting purposes?

Overall, I would save yourself some trouble and just trash Clover especially if it's an EFI you got from someone else or created it with Unibeast (better, but not that great for this mobo).

You should have less trouble than I did because I started with using iGPU.

Sleep issues are generally related to USB. You should use the OpenCore USB Mapping Guide or the Hackintosh tool. i've used both and they both seem to work the same.

Also, though I've properly mapped everything, I have noticed that if anything is plugged into my USB 3.1 on the top of my computer and the computer falls asleep, all my hard drives will disconnect. I'm not sure how to correct that. So there could be some weirdness there. All other ports are fine.

There is no Mojave 10.15. That would be Catalina so off topic for this thread.

If you check post #1 however you will find a Mojave EFI folder to download and work with.

Hi there! If anyone is looking for working EFI for i9-9900K + RX 5700 XT on Asus TUF motherboard, I will attach my file below.
ASUS TUF Z390-PRO GAMING
Intel i9-9900K
RX 5700 XT
macOS Catalina

Also, if anyone with similar setup upgraded to Big Sur, please let me know how you did it as it get stuck for me.

Hey!
I'm having issues trying to update from Mojave to Catalina let alone Big Sur!
How did you manage to??
By doing a native 'vanilla' update to Catalina it just black screens and I boot to my alt ssd with CCC...

Any advice?
