[Success] AMD RX6000 Series working in macOS

The thing is you can't find 6000 series GPU easily right now any way, so I guess there is not much disappointment at the moment. By the time 6000 GPU is supported (if it is supported at all), the supply situation will hopefully be a lot better.
I kinda agree, I had to write bot for local stores to catch one as it showed up.
But overall I think acutal situation is a bit dufferent than with 5000 series. The codes of big navi cards are there and the 11.3 beta should come soon.

To me 11.3 will have support of 6000 cards that can come in like week.

But I can be blind believer that installed big sur and RX 6800 XT and waiting for acceleration.

We are still only on 11.2 beta 1 and waiting for 11.2 beta 2. 11.3 beta will be a little while yet.

It may not be 'much disappointment' for you but it is for us who have the cards in our machines and are waiting for support now.
Yeah, same boat here I pulled out my 5600XT/RX 580 from my 2 builds at home and work for Christmas for gaming builds for my little cousins. Luckily was able to scoop up 6800/6800XT and now they're just sitting in boxes. I'm contemplating switching to windows for a few weeks in the meantime. Support soon would be awesome.

Ha yeah I impulse bought a 6900xt, I couldn't resist the opportunity because they are so rare. I pulled my RX 580 and am running Windows with 6900xt. Windows was fine until I had to actually do work in it, what a dog of an OS. Everything is just a bit sluggish even with a 6900xt, 3950x and 64gb Ram, nothing feels slick. I actually had to put my RX 580 back in and use my £1000 GPU as a doorstop.

However, we shouldn't moan really buying a 6000 series card for Hackintosh this early is not very clever.

Andy,
agree took my Aorus 5700XT out and slammed in a nice 6800XT Nitro + se , wow its like running shape shifter on my Amiga :), fingers crossed they get the drivers soon

Well, we still need agdpmod=pikera to boot by now
Oh well, thanks for that info. I don't have a Navi10 card anyway, so I really don't know much about the situation. The only thing that I have learned from my build is that using agdpmod=pikera or not makes no difference for my RX6800 in 11.1. OS could boot, no acceleration, system info shows "AMD VGA 31MB". Maybe I'll try it again when the following update arrives.

Not clever if just for macOS, but if you run Windows and/or Linux it is very clever, unless you overpaid by too much.

I just got a 6800XT direct from AMD the other day, at MSRP no less. So stock is definitely improving and I need those drivers.

It's been some time since the last Big Sur Beta came out, 11.2 Beta 1, nearly 4 weeks now. I hope they have been busy working on those RX 6800 drivers in that time.
Yes the holidays and remote work most likely stalling progress. Also, with the 5700 series AMD released updated drivers before Apple included support.
