Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Gigabyte has just dropped new BIOS F20a (not sure what happened to BIOS versions F8 to F19, as F7c was the last version on the website), with purported support for 11th-gen Rocket Lake. I haven't tested this bios yet. Will be interesting to see if Big Sur (or even Catalina) will boot Rocket Lake out of the box when it drops later this year.

I think the biggest problem would be the new Xe igpu.

Agreed. It will have different hardware ids etc, I foresee problems in apps that use the igpu. But you never know. But in terms of just running x86 code, should be fine.

People have trouble POSTing with F20a Bios. So perhaps it could be helpful to check out that thread first. They had to q-flash older stable version, so I'll probably hold off for now.

The hackintosh community made AMD work in macOS. So, I think the next Intel chip would be no problem.

But I hope they can make the iGPU work as well.

I'm always looking for an upgrade. :)

I'm experiencing a "problem" booting my computer.
I'm using dual boot using OpenCore, and sometimes the boot is slow since I press the power on and OpenCore shows the picker menu (maybe 15-20 seconds). In this time, I can't enter in bios settings or the boot selector. After, I can choose Big Sur or Windows and boot normally. (Sometimes, Windows shows an alert problem with USB controller but all seem to work fine.)
The solution I find to fix this "problem" is power off the PSU for 1-2 minutes, and then boot perfectly and quick.
Any idea?

Is everyone currently on F7c? When I was still using my Sapphire NITRO+ RX580 SE, I noticed that (on my system), there was no longer an "Initial Display Output" option for choosing iGPU vs. PCIe in F7c. Mind you, this was also the same time when I was having problems getting CSM to stay disabled. Wonder if this is truly the new UX, or another freak anomaly...? I'm afraid to try F7c again as everything seems to be working ok....

Reminds me of the debacle when gigabyte posted a firmware update to their rgb controller chip that bricked the controller...

I’m on f7c and noticed the same. If the menu is there, it’s significantly buried somewhere.

I only updated from f5 because I was having memory stability problems. But I found out it wasn’t a bios problem but was instead a voltage problem with the xmp profile and 4 Ram sticks. I’d say stay on f5 if it works well for you.

Please try the two changes shown below, reboot, and see if boot time improves.
