Thank you. I don't think I can use your Haswell EFI directly, but I looked through it and what I have see seems all correct. I went through all sections, even generated SSDTs for my machine, but the audio device still does not show in the Sound System Preferences. Like I wrote elsewhere, I am using a USB sound adapter so I have sound. I was doing the same on Catalina, but since everything works even better on Big Sur I thought I would look into getting the ALC221 working as well. Maybe someone has other ideas.

Are you using alcid= or this layout-id ? Can only use one or the other not both.

Hmm. I followed that and still nothing. Attached is my EFI folder. Anyone else have ideas to try?
you haven't added in your alcid to either boot arguments or under your pci devices

Try using the HPET patch and the SSDT-HPET.

I dumped my DSDT and created SSDT-HPET with SSDTTime and not luck, but I will try the one you attached. I also updated config.plist.

Small progress. The audio devices show up and work, but machine reboots shortly after fully booted. See attached EFI folder to see if I did what you suggested. Thanks for you help.
