I may have inadvertently activated the driver when I ran the config.plist through ProperTree and saved it. Nevertheless, if the driver is for systems older than Ivy Bridge, then it should have never been there, unless it was for some special reason I would like to be aware of.
 
Sleep: my system will sleep when I force it from the apple menu, but not based on the sleep setting in system preferences--energy saver. my apple TB display sleeps after the proper interval, but the system continues to run.

the only USB device plugged in currently is the BT on my Fenvi card. I changed the setting on HS11 in the UAIC SSDT to external since I am using a USB splitter to connect both BT and the USB 2 ports on my case.

I tried unplugging the splitter from HS11 and still no schedule-based sleep.

I reconnected the splitter, then ran the terminal command to see what is preventing sleep.

the output is attached.

Thank you for pointing this out.

If @cheetoh had followed the mini-guide he would not have run into this. I do not recommended the use of ProperTree's "blind self-configuration" option for reasons like this.

We experiment with different EFI drivers and we keep some of those drivers in the EFI folder in case someone wants to enable them. There may even be superfluous kexts in the EFI folder, but they are not referenced in config.plist.

Bottom Line: Do not use ProperTree's self-configuration option.

I switched from Clover to OC but I was considering switching back to Clover due to booting issues. If I have a bootable backup, can I simply replace the EFI folder and add back the kexts in /L/E and be good to go? Or are there other steps I would need to take?

@CaseySJ So tried to BOOT using my M2P slotted NVMe Main Clone- Same result as SSD. about 10 mins of idle with no input and computer reboots back to clover menu. Also tried, X.M.P- Disabled which dropped ram from 3200mhz to 2133mhz Still gave me the same result as prior, 10 mins idle, reboot...

  • Are you running Mojave or Catalina?
  • What boot issues are you experiencing?
  • Which version of OpenCore are you using?
  • How often do the boot issues occur?

I recently switched from Clover to OC and updated to Big Sur following your guides. i used the latest OC package from the Mini-Guide in this threat. Problem is that now my Blackmagic PCI card ist not recognised by the system anymore. Has there been any change in the config of the PCI slots? I am new to OC so I am not really sure where to start my investigation. Thank you in advance!

I'm running Catalina 10.15.7, OC 0.6.4.

We discussed the boot issue earlier in this thread but couldn't find a resolution. The issue is that on cold boots (not turning off the PSU, just if the computer has been shut down for a while), once the boot process is complete and the login screen should appear, the screen goes blank. If I do a warm reboot, then it will progress all the way through and the login screen will appear. It seems really odd but is very consistent and doesn't really make sense. The issue was never there when I was using Clover.

I see. You can certainly switch to Clover as follows:
  • First rename or backup the existing OpenCore EFI.
  • Then locate your Clover EFI folder and copy it to the EFI partition of a USB flash drive in order to do a test boot through Clover.
  • Because you are using Catalina, do not install any third-party kexts in /Library/Extensions folder.
  • Instead, just confirm that all necessary kexts are in the CLOVER/kexts folder.
  • Insert USB flash drive in the computer, boot the machine, and press F12 at BIOS splash screen to open the BIOS boot menu. Select the USB flash disk.
  • Now Clover Boot Menu should appear. Boot Catalina.
