30-minute update of macOS 11.1 (20C69) for my Z370 | 9600K | RX 580 build with OpenCore 0.6.4

Some notes:
  • It took a half of progression before the first reboot
  • First reboot showed Macintosh HD as the installer
  • Three reboots
  • Faster than iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 updates

I could update my Ryzentosh with no trouble!.... Smooth and easy, I used OpenCore 0.6.4 with the lastest patches and kexts.

Updated from Big Sur 11.01 on OC 0.6.4. No issues at all; one of the easiest updates...

Success. Easiest update ever. Clover 5127, all recent kexts. First cycle booted into preboot, two more restarts.
Thanks everyone! Oh, from 11.01 :p

Trying to update to the final release of 11.1 from Public Beta 2....no success. Any help?

now which partition are you booting from ? Main or perboot ?

Been on this build since a few days ago. Works very nicely. Big Sur is far better in my opinion than Catalina... i had a ton of problems with Catalina; USB, sleep, Thunderbolt peripherals not firing on, crashes when waking up from sleep, and so on. Very bad experience, and not like the Apple I've come to know (Sierra and High Sierra were good builds... the issues started with 10.14 and worsened in 10.15).
Almost all working for me for Catalina on ga-h170n-wifi but Bluetooth and on my ga-h77N-wifi all working except wi-fi. I also configure all my music and movies

Ooof. Finally did get mine updated, but it wasn't totally smooth. I upgraded OpenCore from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4 without any trouble, but after running Software Update to start the install, I got the "OC: Failed to load configuration" black screen upon first reboot.

If you see this, it's not a huge deal — I plugged in my OC backup USB and rebooted, manually selecting the "Macintosh HD" preboot volume. Once the installer is done running its tasks, it's supposed to switch back to your main Big Sur volume to finish the install, but mine was still being fussy and I had to switch it manually again.

Not sure if I've got some bad settings in my BIOS or my NVRAM is screwy or what — I've been running this machine since 2017 and never had any trouble with updates. I'm still pretty new to OpenCore and getting the hang of it — I'll have to double-check all my settings and hope the next install works like it's supposed to.
